earth foes taking 0 damage?

I'm playing ranger on nightfall, and I notice that whenever I fight earth-based foes like mandragors or droughtlings, some of my arrows hit for "0" damage. What causes this? Thanks.

Are you using a bow with an Ebon prefix on it? It changes the bow's damage to earth damage. Earth creatures are resistant to earth damage.

The earth dmg mandragor and the Droughtling also uses these;

Perhaps Stoneflesh Aura alone is already enough to reduce dmg to 0, otherwise both skills at the same time i would say.
