Hey all,
Now that GW2 is well under way, why on earth can't Anet now spend a little more time of the legions of dedicated and new GW1 players. I presented this to alliance members and in general chat in game on many oaccassions and was shot down each time with the crappy "they are busy getting GW2 ready" excuse.
Ok, so here's the deal. Am I the only one sick of the same old Nick requests? Have they simply hit the 2009-2010 recycle Nick request button? There are dozens and dozens of collectable items that Nick never asked for before they decided to re-hash old ones. The same could go for Z bounties. Take a wander through any explorable area and come across 5 or 6 bosse or more in some cases and that's without dungeons. some areas be it for a Z boss or vanquish have never been included. Talk like a pirate day etc etc, what about new content??
I could go on but I know many will just call it trolling.
It just seems to me that Anet just don't care about GW1 players and have simply hit their own AFK switch.
Oh, and before you all say I'm just trolling out of my butt, yes I know they just updated the Elementalist bar but that's just small fry.
More from GW1

It's just unrealistic. Anet would like nothing better than for the millions of total newbies in GW2 to buy a copy of GW1. Then it might be worth it for them to go back and keep extending GW1. As it is, it's the players who have chosen to abandon the game in favor of GW2. It makes no sense for Anet to invest further into a product that will no longer provide much revenue for them.
Nick isn't about collecting items, he is about traveling to every location in the game. The collection aspect is just there to make you work for the reward. And it so happens that it gives most items a use where before it was all junk. But they're still junk for 2.5 years or whatever it is between rotations. Most people will probably be done with GW1 for good before they see items rotate again, so why worry about it?
Most of the bounties are chosen because a boss is particularly challenging or located in a non-trivial place to reach, not just because they happen to exist. And the easier bounties already pay out so little that they're not even worth the time. Adding more, easier bounties would just create a bunch of filler in the rotation.

Not 100% true though, tbh more people I know have been moving back to gw1, gw2 isn't all it was made out to be.
To me at least, it is not guild wars 2.
It could be any game.
So much so I've picked up wow for the first time to play with some old friends, and split my time between gw1 and that.

I get a feeling you may not have been playing guild wars 2 lately, because if you had, you should know the reason why Anet are not at a point where they can devote more devs to gw1. The reason is the huge number of bugs in gw2. No new MMO launch is without bugs, and gw2 is considered one of the smoothest launches by quite a lot of people. However, there is still a significant number of bugs with large aspects of the game like personal stories, skills, quests, and more. Not a day goes by in the game where bugs are not mentioned. Rebalances are also needed and being worked on, like dungeons due to their difficulty not warranting the reward players are getting, and the huge amount of mobs when trying to solo some areas/personal story quests. Their official forums are inundated with bug reports amongst other things like account security issues etc, and Anet has responded by saying they are working around the clock to fix issues.
Your alliance members were not giving you a poor excuse, they were giving you the answer...which you didn't like. I wish that soon they would devote more time to add more content to gw1 like skill updates, and the NF beyond stuff. However, I know that they have their hands very full at the moment so I will wait.

I think Ectogasm is off the mark a little. Nick travelling to every location, soemhow I don't think so, especially if all Anet are doing is just recycling where he was in 2009 & 2010. Not really pushing hard there are they. Hard bounties are still aplenty in areas not covered by the ZB. Whilst GW" may be like all other new games, full of bugs etc, there are still many players staying in GW1. Enougn said!

I'm sorry you have such trouble facing reality. Good luck.

Lets be honest, Just because GW2 is well underway doesn't mean its perfect, game has loads of bugs and loads of tickets to take care of. They don't have the man-power to hand devs over to give GW1 new updates and content. Don't forget just because GW2 is out doesn't mean they are done, its an MMO, so people will be expecting new content and expansions. I have no doubt they already made plans for those. GW1 might get minor updates in the future, but I wouldn't bet on new contents. Anet is a business, and truthfully there is no money to be made in GW1.
Age
There are still things that can be done with GW a new area maybe etc etc .
To the person who said there bugs when it come to new MMOs there none when GW came out in 05 just skill balances.

As a newbie...never played any MMO until a few months ago..in fact hardly ever played a computer game at all....I like GW2 the best. I bought GW1..and ironically paid more for it than GW2. I like it as well...especially factions and nightfall. People are not quite as helpful in GW1 as they are in GW2..some are a little cliquey and if they want GW1 to live on..that isn't the best way. I have heard WOW is very much cliquey. I have read on WOWs own website and most of the posts on that forum say GW2 is better. If you get positive posts on a competitors site..well..that is saying it to me. I think on both games..they should change one thing every week or two..not keep things static..this way it will always be a new game. What do you think? If anyone wants to partner up in GW1 or 2..my GW1 people are Keith Vale level 6...and Istu Bon level 3..in GW2 I am Deloson level 27.
