petname spikey

why isnt it allowed?
just try it "/petname spikey" guess what it says..... "The pet name contains disallowed words."

whats spikey anyway? never heard of it being a bad name.... i know a SNES game where a boss is named spikey, lol

anyway, does anyone know if anet said something about this? or know a good reason?

take away the first and last letter and you get a derogatory term...(though also the name of the weapon...) there are a LOT of words they use but dont allow (assassin for one).

no pike is STILL part of it....you could do spyke possible.

It's probably relating to 'pikey', rather than 'pike'. Commonly, 'pikey' is used to describe anyone who lives in a caravan and therefore is considered derogatory. It is more often just used in jest within social circles.

i know what i did today, and called my wolf spike

i still find it weird that its not possible as petname, barely anyone uses a pet as i've seen
and petnames being bad, even if its bad words... sounds minor to me

as charname i'd say ok, not to spikey, but more obvious bad names to be disabled

why not do that to pikey or s pikey... or something

the filter holds back "damn/damned" yet we have an enemy in kryta with that word in its name (damned cleric)

then spikey cuz of 1 letter away from something bad.... same with assassin (2 same bad words in it)

oh, i see the filter on maximum doesnt hold back spikey as word..... o_O
weird to disable spikey as petname, yet you can say it with filter on maximum

yes they are strange like that...there is an npc in factions with a name that isnt allowed either...its funny when they talk about him as him name is starred out for the first part and the last is still there. They seem to have double standards, and there are some VERY common words that are not allowed as well (think bite was one) because they have meanings in other languages.
just keep trying alternative spellings until you get one that it allows.
