Hello,
I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong thread. I've bought GW long, long time ago, but I never had time to actually play this game. So I just decided I'm going to try this game now (before it will be closed or something).
I'd like to ask a couple of questions:
1. How does chat work in this game? Everytime I'm trying to tell something I'm just getting a warning "Nobody can hear you!" I've seen a couple of other players in the game, but I haven't figured out how to talk to them yet
2. Is anyone else lagging horribly in the cities? I'm sure it's not problem with my comp or my ISP, because I'm playing several other mmorpgs w/o any problems at all.
3. Are there any guilds recruiting new (returning) players?
My char is Tor Dah (level 9 Warrior/Mesmer), currently doing quests/missions around Ascalon...
Thanks

Definitely. There are guild forums here you can check out, or see if anyone's recruiting (they'll be in the big cities for maximum exposure).
PS: If you're not there already, move into the American servers. Most people are there (the district selection box is in the upper left hand corner when you're in town). That might help with the population issues.
PPS: Anet have stated that they'll keep the servers running as long as there is sufficient interest from players. GW1 will most likely be around for quite a long time.

Hello,
thanks for the answers.
I see. It looks like there is no global chat at all (to talk to every player in the game). Interesting concept... It must be very hard for new players to find somebody to talk.
I can't see any posts in that part of forums, that's why I was asking here.
Btw I'm getting server error 502 everytime I try to access the official GW1 forums...
All I can see is Europe or International, but I will look again.
That's great news.
thanks for the answers.

GW has instanced areas. Only towns and outposts are shared by players. Once you move out into an explorable area you get your own copy of that area that only contains you and the people/AI you joined up with in town(/outpost). Using the 'all' chat won't achieve anything here because it broadcasts only to those in that instance. Try it in the large city areas.

To see more options on the servers go to "more options" at the bottom of that drop down box. Then you should be able to pick for America, Asia, Europe etcetc.
