No Gold Value Items

Was talking with Todes yesterday and he noticed my Early GW Release Blue Stormbow & FDS had no Gold Values and then found a r7 Fellblade he had with no Gold Value.

No gold value = never been identified.
Any white drop after putting on mods will become blue so these aren't any special. (FDS is just the exceptional type of a 'white' that's actually blue because of the fiery mod it drops with).
Some more interesting "no gold value" items are purples and golds (naked - it doesn't say "unidentified" on them) or salvage armor drops with no runes inside (no gold value means they dropped that way).

That is the theory yes but with no mods on these they are blue still. I was to believe that ones only turn blue with an elemental dmg mod on them as well.
Yeah I can understand with whites and blues having no shown gold value unless identified as that's easy to see. Why do these not say "unidentified" ? Shouldn't they ?
They are both still badass either way and don't you dare call my precious not special!

Perfect salvage both mods out of that storm bow -> it will turn white. If it won't then you got a *VERY* special item.
Obv even as a white it's speical in that it's a req.8 (max req.8 bow can't drop anymore even as a white). A FDS like yours however still can drop (rare)
Dropped weapons don't say "unidentified" on them when they don't have inherent mod AND don't have any salvageable ugrades. It was possible in the past for various item types, right now only possible on wands/foci/shields from locked chests in one EotN mission.
