forgot about those...

did a run yesterday..grand total of shards: 6 yes six (yes I killed everything, yes I picked up the few things that dropped)...got better luck from the wintersday gifts

I am beginning to feel like I am being punished for not playing a certain way. Lots of people bragging about having stacks and stacks of cc shards by doing the snowball stuff. I am farming and farming and farming and..., well, you get the idea, and still just 35 cc shards. Why do I have to load up snowball fight skills to get cc shards?

I was finally able to get enough for my accounts...opening gifts was pretty lame (open 70 gifts get 10 shards )....so I did a bunch of that strength quest..got about 20 shards each time (after that first pathetic run)...no mpb either to speak of....still am working on finishing that ebon title so about 40 more times of snowball fighting (can only do so many a day before I really want to throw things!!).
I would trade the cc shards for something you got a lot of (alcohol or party)...if you arent working on those titles.

update:

if you attend the finale you will get ONE wintergreen weapon (at random) per account plus gifts (so says the wiki)...so only one for the first time you attend and then just the regular gifts for the other times.

nice finale, i heard they are tradeable, too.... i just got daggers, which i dont even like, lol

well, for a wintersday without many people left (due to GW2, mostly) it was a real nice one

got 1 account all i wanted, the other is just getting wintergreen, and maybe 2 grab bags, for sugar/party/alcohol for my 1st account, lol

was alot of fun doing those istan quests with my main and her snowball-ish build i made... on HM

my new made wintersday char has what i wanted, so i'm happy

What's the reason of playing a MMO game if you can't get anything exclusive?

Aren't the wintergreen weapons inferior to regular ones? I've never had any interest in them so I honestly have no idea.

jayson, its a bit better than candy cane ones, as you can upgrade them, but they dont have max dmg/energy/armor, and staves have no HSR or energy which normal staves have

yes, they have an inscription slot (well my axes and hammer do).

now they just need to give everyone a mini polar bear (and then a greased lightning for new years)...and that would make my new year

Yeah that's what I was referring to. All of these wintergreen items have lower stats. Doesn't sound like the lack of requirement is a good trade off to me.

Nonsense. There have still been people coming into GW1 over the past couple years. Their only option if they wanted any Wintergreen equipment was to purchase it at the ridiculous market prices. Now, they at least have a random shot to get the item they want or one more valuable (in which case they can trade).

FYI, I received a mini polar bear from the 8th grab bag I opened. I updated the wiki and am looking forward to ANet confirming since there's no text when a grab bag is opened. Best of luck over the last few hours of the event.

What are people with several accounts getting for the Wintergreen Item?
I ended up with three swords.
Doesnt seem very random to me.
btw i sold my orignal Wintergreen Sword and Shield years ago.

A few daggers, swords, spears, staves, a hammer, bow, wand and scythe thus far. Pretty random, but I was hoping for a shield to go with a spear.

That's exactly the point, some items are ment to be exclusive. Without exclusive items to work for, the majority would stop playing after they finished the campaign. Now the market prices of WG's drops massively.

For example, the WG spear was a great way to look different (using it as a caster spear) and thus worth the money. Now the most expensive spear is a VS, which every noob has.

yes, the finale is still happening just as always every 3 hours..with a 15 minute delay for kamadan to start.

as for multiple accounts...still have one more to go but: hammer, axe, bow, axe ...wanted either a shield or staff (or wand would be fine too), but I keep getting silly melee weapons!!

edit: final account got a wand woot!
(so thats 2 axes, hammer, bow and wand)

Does anyone have that big post from John Stumme handy from when those rare minis started showing up from the 7th year birthday presents? I can't seem to track it down.

It was basically talking about how exclusiveness just for exclusiveness sake, wanting other people not to have something they want just because you want to be the only one who has it, is a kind of spite the live team doesn't care to support. How did you find out that the developers decided that these were "meant to be exclusive"?

What did people do to earn Wintergreen weapons? Right place, right time, wasn't it? Or buying it with a bundle of money? So what? When Wintergreen weapons were released, there was no promise that they would stay exclusive forever, so anyone spending huge amounts of money did so at their own risk.

In short, the live team has been doing this for over a year with various previously exclusive items, and will continue to do so as a matter of policy according to the guy in charge half a year ago. If you speculate on something that was previously handed out to just anyone, you are likely to find it handed out at random again someday.

I got what I wanted thought there would be hats this year but oh well.I got there just in time after updating GWx2.Kimberly got me 14 times with snowballs.
