candy cane and wintergreen weapons upgrade

make candy cane weapons the way the wintergreen weapons are right now (moddable), and change the wintergreen weapons into max and real weapons (like staff having HSR 20% AND 10 energy) and of course moddable

so that the cc weapons are useful (as much as it can be, with no max dmg or energy on staves and such) and fun to have
yet the winners weapons change into true and very useful weapons with their unique skins

heck, just let us be able to at least upgrade cc weapons without inscriptions, that'd be a nice addition to wintersday (my favorite GW event)

this isnt cuz i'm looking for a wintergreen weapon right now (which i am), but more to add for a nice wintersday for as long as they can change GW events
never know how it goes cuz of GW2 (which can go too good, so they leave GW with normal updates, but also bad, so they cant lose any money on GW anymore, which they still can now)

these weapons always were useless in most cases, yet they look nice
cant compare em to elite armors, as those DO have a use (armor rating), and these weapons arent

i see people throw em away alot, and i'm like: *ouch* dont you like em?
other player: they are useless, and take in space *ouch*

the ouches are for: but they look nice and are a symbol of wintersday

i rather see the traded wintergreen weapons and candy cane weapons (and those shields and focus) all being moddable and non-max, while the winners from back then (non banned accounts by now) will get the maxed and moddable versions on their accounts by typing /bonus

dont get me wrong, i dont want the items they won being non-unique, as i made clear they should get the maxed versions
also, i dont care about maxed versions, as long as we can mod them, even without inscriptions

i just feel that the weapons dont do people any good anymore, even though they have unique skins

again: its not just for myself (it is in a way that i dont feel its much of wintersday anymore, unlike back in the old days)

barely anyone thinks that the wintergreens are any fun, cuz its not a full working weapon
but to not let the winners feel the uniqueness being taken away from them, they should get the maxed weapons

i'm looking for a wintergreen staff now, and 3 hours in kamadan didnt do anything
so this tells alot about how much people casre about them these days

now let us at least have some fun with moddable wintersday items
maybe in a wintersday pack buyable from ingame store/ncsoft store, that contains all of em, and maybe some reindeer minipet, all untradeable, so that everyone who wants, should buy

either way, i hope they'll do something like this in the future

and i hope i can find 1 soon enough, lol... sigh, tired atm due to time (night) and searching for that 1 weapon o_O

ADDING idea: they could also make those candy cane ones minimum dmg, maybe with small upgrades of your choosing, like minimum of the upgrades

armor penetration 10% with 5% chance, HP 20

no dmg changers

HCT of spells upgrades having 5% chance

etc.
just weak weapons, yet a LITTLE bit more useful than now

again, its NOT to make these useful on itself, its also so that people will use em a little more, which i'd love to see... so i'm not the only one, as i've never seen anyone in team using any

to clear things up, i hope this isnt saying "you can get it with patience, so no need for this idea"
as the reason behind this idea is more about the wintersday spirit i once saw in people, which died cuz the weapons (shields and focus) dont have any good use

If people want moddable candy cane weps, there's plenty of wintergreens about.

I used the candy/peppermint for when I don't really need a weapon. Doesn't affect performance much unless you're maintaining SF or somesuch.

sigh, i said its NOT about those prices and such, but about the wintersday spirit

you know, what makes us feel good at the event (not talking about regular things like farming)
these candy cane weapons are useless, and thats a waste of space imo

if the older weapons would be upgradeable, people would at least use them

maybe it makes people be like: hey, now that i can upgrade them, lets use em some more (be it on wintersday or always)

and now that we got wintergreens for wintersday, they arent so rare anymore, so it would hurt even less (which i doubt it would before, anyways)

also, i have the staff i wanted before, but still find it bad that those weapons dont do anything (so nothing changed with my opinion, even though i got what i wanted)

and i have added ideas, so enough ways to make these older ones finally useful

they could also make wintergreen weapons maxed (and staff with 20% HSR and the 10 staff energy and such), plus candy cane weapons being upgradeable... that way people who want the more useful ones, will go and buy em, and those who like candy cane weapons enough, will upgrade theirs and use them

to me its not about making very common and easy to get stuff strong or something, its about these old weapons, which are from the start of GW useless (pretty much, unless you use the bow as luring bow)
and giving them a useful upgrade, would make them used more, maybe making people use those at wintersday, for fun AND with a bit of a use

well, i dont like the elitism (the part where people say that everyone has to work like its RL for something fun), but Anet doesnt care about that either, as we've seen with wintergreen weapons now

they may make these cc weapons useful anyday (any year), and nothing bad will be done to people
thats why they made the WG weapons obtainable for everyone now... by standing in the city, thats all we needed to do

perhaps a different skin for next year, to keep what uniqueness wg's have left.

I never said it was. But the giving out of wintergreens at 2012 was enough of a kick in the teeth to the 2006 winners and anyone who spent considerable amounts of gold to buy them from players.

Making us "feel good" is not a valid reason. I'd "feel good" if they gave me 200 stacks of ectos, but thats not gonna happen.

Well this entire idea sounds to me like making things common, easy, and stronger. The weapons are far from useless. My main still uses a candy cane bow for pulling, and 3 of my casters have wintergreen weapons. Swords, Axes, Spears, and shields are all viable for actual combat.
