I thought the beetle is supposed to have the design that you select from the paint job guy. Did you guys select those patterns before?

I havent leveled mine yet...but had no pattern (I got mine with a zcoin)....just plain (red when I capped it).

I guess if you haven't done any rollerbeetle racing it defaults to no pattern, so?

That's correct, the default default is plain, it means you never purchased a paint job or you reset it back to plain.

I just hadnt looked at it (the color it was on my screen the top and bottom are the same 
)....I have flames on mine....and yes, I have tried racing and failed repeatedly 
...and I guess sometime ago (probably a few years, gasp that it remembered) I did purchase the flames (I looked thru some old screens and found one where I placed! and had the flames...)

Ok I was really happy with this event. It again showed how many still play the game, and it's really many, and not just people only logged for the event.
As for me, I got absolutely no luck with fortunes this time, but with the jenerousity of a friend and my bf I got all the minis I wanted, tiger, rabbit (the 2 I had been unlucky with) and snake too ^^ Yay!

But same for me: Opened about 330 Fortunes and got one pet. Las year I gave my last 50 Fortunes to a friend after I got nothing out of 200 and he just dropped me 3 Dragons right out of that 50 ones. I don't understand but I guess it's hitting the right ones.

I think its timing...I was opening at a steady rate and kept getting the 100gold (not complaining...especially after I got my snakes)...so I think there is some trick to it.
and Mintha Syl glad to hear that people came to your aid and you were able to pick up the minis you wanted.

I'm pretty happy with this event too because I have now 109 minis in my HoM, I reached my skillz (4) and I made around 15 minis with the medals

so i dont know what happened but I talked to the npc to trade in my token for a new celestial mini, and she ate my token and gave me a pig... whether I lagged, or double clicked her accidentally i don't know but I'm pretty bummed considering I've already had a pig for years and was hoping for a new mini.
oh well, there's always next year i guess =/

yes, it would have been nice if they had continued to give them away, however, with no live team to speak of, that would have required WORK on gw 
(other than automating weekend stuff)....so, they moved to the medals for minis ...which required only a small change and no more.

there is a very noticeable lack of players in the beetle, so few there isn't enough enough to get a game started I joined the festivities late, so what am I to do? I hope there will be some folks in a couple of hours.

i think the race ended but u can travel there to change medals to famous beetle

I would doubt that the racing ends before chinese new years, it's part of the festival!

There was ALWAYS enough player to race in Rollerbeetle. I've never waited more than 5 minutes at this event to go in a race.

After CNY finale ended the racing outpost has indeed been empty, so it's true you can't start a race anymore.

Races aren't starting not due to lack of players, but because you can't start one to begin with. The event is over, so battles won't begin.

menagerie now has an npc to change your ranger pet beetle's colors(right?) and pattern
seems they still ARE working on GW, we got many new mini's and even a ranger pet, with customizations on it o_O
(not trying to discuss that, just giving my thoughts)

If the outpost is still up, I'm tempted to see if changing the pet's skin changes your disguise's skin, as they seemed to initially be linked and may still be.

colors still change everytime you zone, but makes it more funny (maybe sometimes confusing)
its easy now to reach, as he's in menagerie, and yes, i did get mine switched, as i only wanted my pet to change, and both changed into tiger stripes
from GWWiki - (location) Zaishen Menagerie Grounds (only for accounts that have unlocked Racing Beetle)
so if you wanna make it yours, its 1 gold z coin+ 100g to unlock, and 100g to change its skin
