get back into guild wars 2

Hi, i havnt played guild wars 2 since the release of it and the highest level character i had was 15. I stopped playing becuase the story and combat didnt feel that good and i couldn't find anyone that would actually talk or be social.
Now i am considering coming back and would likt to know stuff like which race storyline do you find the most interesting. what class excels in pve, pvp and wvw.Also anything else you can think of thanks
