Let's Do Prophecies Again

If anyone is interested, I am trying to get a few people together to do Prophecies from beginning to end.

The only rules are pretty much that you start a new character from Pre-Searing and that we try to do missions together.

I will be trying to set this up to happen around 10 PM - 12 AM EST most nights of the week and we can create a thread dedicated to keeping everyone on the same page.

I also created a guild called Trahearne Must Die specifically for this event, if anyone wants to come back and is guild-less, like I was.

Please post here if interested and I will PM you.

Would love to do this and would make a mesmer. I have a family so cant be on most nights. But 4 nights a week i can do if thats any good? Also i am guildless, the only issue i can see is that i might not be able to keep up with your leveling

Nah, I think this will be pretty casual. Set a time when most people can get on and do a mission and try and progress along at the same pace. I have a family too, and work I bring home, so I won't be able to get on every night either. I'll send you a PM.

As I'm in Europe it might get difficult to get on same time. However I tend to sleep and wake up early so I could probably play around 10pm EDT, just not everyday.

I think it's good if we find how many interested people and their time zones, and we'll see if we can get something working.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To get things started, let's check interest and how people want to do this

??? Do we want to set an average level when we leave Pre-Searing? Say level 8-12'ish, or does it matter if some might be 6 and some 20? Personally I'll do 10+

??? How about setting an average progress speed. This will let newcomers get a chance to catch up, and the more people in a general area, the easier to party up for say skill quests and other nearby things? I made a quick table in Excel to show how our speed could progress if we either do average 1 mission/week, or 2 missions/week, starting out in Prophecies:

1 Mission/Week2 Missions/WeekAreaMay 26May 26Pre-SearingJun 2"The Great Northern WallJun 9Jun 2Fort RanikJun 16"Ruins of SurmiaJun 23Jun 9Nolani AcademyJun 30"Borlis PassJul 7Jun 16The Frost GateJul 14"Gates of Kryta
Either way should leave room for family and real life, and people who live in other time zones can still follow pace and party up when they can.

Other ideas?

I like these ideas! I think giving a timetable of missions per week is great.

As far as levels go, I can't remember what level I was when I left pre-searing last. I don't know that it really matters all that much, as the levels should level out :P pretty quickly.

I'm game. Haven't played GW in a loooong time, this should be fun! Timezones might be a problem, though. (UTC+1)

Ya timezones are gonna be an issue. Maybe we can try and scale things back a bit. PM me your IGN. Mine is Pandora Misfit.

Personally I think it's much easier to level up the first 10 levels in Pre-Searing before arriving to Old Ascalon. Your kill experience is not split among other party members. The trick is to forgo all quests (rewards) until getting Level 9 from kills, then do all quests to pop Level 10. After that it's much harder to make level quickly without going over the Wall and killing charr.

I'd like to play something I haven't played to death in Pre. Could go either W/N tank, E/Me nuker, or E/Mo nuke/healer. What does the group need more?

I already started preparing a few characters, I will leave at minimum level 12-15 when I leave for Post-Ascalon. My current E/Mo is now 9 with all pre-quest saved for later. I picked E/Mo as it's versatile in either going offense or throw in a few prot spells like Aegis and Spirit Bond if our healer getting too much pressure.

However, I'm gonna go mostly purist using no tomes or running for max armor. That probably means no elite until earliest Beacon's, and getting an elite in Lornar's with sub-armor is gonna be a challenge But hey, I think it willbe more fun playing this way, but not gonna go mental if anyone decides to play it differently.

Also I'm probably gonna try help organize and lead people who plays Euro evenings a few times a week. For that I'm gonna level up a monk just in case. My third option would be my necro.. he's already out of Pre at 20, but only did a single mission with him. I haven't decided on that one yet.

As it is now we're aiming for around June 10, so anyone interested, now is maybe a good time to start working up your levels on a pre-char

sounds good...I also have an ele who wouldnt mind tagging alone (no max armor and I doubt she has any runes either)....think I left her off around fort ranik or ruins of sumeria (would have to check)...and june 10 sounds like a good day to plan towards!

Gods, it's been so long since I logged here. Hgnn... How distasteful, it brings back awful memories. Hope nobody recognizes me...

Anyhow, I suppose I can either roll a Monk or use my Mesmer.

As I said on the other Guru, my IGN is Kailden Jera.

Hey all, sorry, been busy at work.

Ok, I have a few other people that are coming along from GW2Guru that should hopefully post here as well. We can make this thread the get together.

Also, what do people think about Voice Communication? I have a server I can try and use to set up Vent or TS. Let me know what you think.

Also, let's try to shoot for new characters from Pre-Searing. I have a few PM's that I am going to try and get to here in a minute as well.

----------

I think I got everyone on my friends list. Bristlebane is gonna help get things organized. The general thought it that we start the first mission the second week of June, this gives us time to get through pre-searing and for me to go on vacation.
