question about drops in missions

I notice that when there are drops nearby after completing a mission, when I spawn in the next area, a box pops up asking if I want to accept the items.

Is it the same for gold? Do I automatically collect any dropped gold from a completed mission?

gold is lost, so pick it up along the way if you want it.
