Put on those pumpkin hats and paint yourself orange and black because it's that time of year again.

Guild Wars' 9th Annual Halloween Special Event

I'm not expecting anything new for this event (which I think starts around this time next week). Just the usual fun and rewarding quests and hats to collect.

Even the sequel did a great job of halloween and wintersday so I'll split my time equally.

I'm still hoping for something new to be added to the story. After all we got the Rytlock items as a surprise bonus not too long ago.

They can't do that because the court still exists in gw2.

Though I would love an adition to the story, too. King Thorn lore is awesome!

Mad King and the lunatic court is still active 250 years later. Still trying to bridge the rift. So no hope there.

We are aware of the issue and are investigating. As of right now, decorations are up and the hat-giver quests are active, but the rest of Halloween has not started. though halloween stuff usually starts late---

(good thing I had stacks of tot bags from last year!)

Update: tot are dropping and the quest givers are in la and kamadan!
let the rush for stacks begin!

In areas or mid loading screen? And: Are you on european servers or on american ones? The european ones are RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up right now. yesterday there was a lot of people complaining about the eurpoean servers not connencting (even a thread here I responded to about that). Thought it had cleared up, guess not....best to get over to the american servers if you can ---seems they are still taking care of them (for now-----)

They actually introduced it last year, at the same time removing the ability to buff with cons. If you died last year you probably mapped out before respawning. I almost did the same but noticed respawn timer instead of the return to outpost dialog.

I'm in Europe playing on American servers. Middle of an instance I might get a DC with a following dialog saying my session has expired, forcing me to login again. Now this doesn't happen normally (like, extremely rarely). My internet connection itself are very stable.
My only guess is that the servers are getting a bit overloaded with the burst of holiday players.

Was expecting a twitter update saying they had sorted the quests out. Finally got a chance to skele farm this evening and was making around 70k/hour - ToT market will drop over the next few days of course.

I figured it was a random chance thing like some tonics. His shield differs, too.

Skele farming is no fun with a set build. I miss the old way.

no it was the same as last year, there are NO NEW MASKS (until such time, if ever, they say so)...only quests to get a token to get an old mask.

you got the same tot bags for being in the finale and doing emotes for the mad king, if you managed to make it thru the whole 28minutes without messing up you will get an add'l 100 tot bags (extra from those you get for doing the emotes), and gamer points for each emote you got right--30 points extra if you made it thru. (stops if you mess up). So you could get 130 tot bags, 55 gamer points and the minutely mad king tonic.

so short answer No. if you afk'd for the mad king; you would get about 10 tot bags (if you were in the circle) and a minutely mad king tonic.

think its probably gone now (you get 2 quests--one in la and one in kamadan, gul in la and malavaka in kamadan....you have to give them 50 candy corn or 50 pumpkin cookies to get the token...who you can then trade to the festival hat trader--aahatan or erulis).
Havent logged in since early am...they were still there then, but if you say there was an update, then probably left.

edit: they were still there when I just checked...no idea how much longer they will be though---

Got two masks during the event, pretty happy. Feels relaxed as always in GW.

Had about 30+districts in LA still during the Mad King Thorn visit, pretty surprised of the population surge, even if only for the events.

Hope we can get a bit more people to play RA during the weekends, although the current pop at RA is not bad at all.
