GW, Windows 8, and Gamepads

Hey all, I am running GW on a new Win 8 PC (thanks to my loving wife). I used to play it on her Win 7 machine, with my Saitek Command Unit on it. To configure the Command Unit I have the program Total Game Control. Now back on her Win 7 PC everything was great, open TGC, open GW, and play to my hearts content.

Sadly now when I try this, the Command Unit's commands never seem to reach GW. The programs are both running fine (it seems), all commands are the same, if I open a text program I can see that the Command Unit's commands are going through TGC correctly, as they come out as text on the notepad. But they never reach the game.

I have tried updating the drivers, various compatibility modes (as suggested by TGC's writer), and even contacted HP support for any ideas they may have. So far nothing. So saving the best for last, here I am. Any ideas?

I dont think that the devs ever thought of gw being windows8 compatible.

though if you want more input, I would suggest posting on the gw2 guru since more peeps (techs etc) see that forum than ours now.

other ideas (not a techie by any means, ways or....)...is TGC made for windows 8? perhaps an upgrade for it from 7 to 8 is needed???
(or just play gw without tgc and see if that works first...if it does than its something with tgc and 8).

Well I can successfully use the MadCatz profiler for the gamepad and it does work. However, the profiler software from Madcatz is very confusing on how to program the thumbstick, so I lost alot of the controls I am used to. Still dinking with it all.
