Hello guys!
So I've been playing Guild Wars for a long period of time but stopped it because I started to play some other games. Today I really thought that it would be cool to start playing it again, but there's one big question: Is there anybody active? Since GW2 was released I can imagine many players jumped off (even tho I cant understand that, but well). I don't want to play a game where aren't any people playing ofc. So tell me: Is it still active?
e: I can't run it on Windows 8 :S

In all honesty, the game is pretty empty. You'll still find people playing in game, and Kamadan still has its chat channel flooded by trade posts, but don't expect to find a lot of pugs if you're off the beaten track (or even if you're on it in some cases).

Hm kinda obvious that it's like that. But still: Why can't I run Guild Wars on Windows 8? I cant even launch the setup

Uninstall and re-download the client... Might have been a snafu somewhere....

you must remember that the game is over 8 years old--back then vista and windows 7 were barely....well, the specs for gw were xp with thoughts about vista/7....8 wasnt around so their may be a few issues....if Max can tell you how he got it to run on his machine (I have gotten a few other pm's about the same problem), that would be great!

mine runs on windows 8 fine. Have you tried putting in a game disc?

well I was on to-day running the windows 8.1x64 update and no problems at my end without using any adjustment mode ect

Win8 works fine for me but the windows 8.1 update screwed everything up, including but not limited to:
Crashes
Low FPS
Mouse problems
Generally being a piece of shit
I guess it takes a reformat to uninstall it.. lawl.
Protip: NEVER update windows unless you absolutely have to.
