It's a functional perma shield.

The sort that a perma sin who doesn't have a lot of cash available can use.

5e is better than nothing, so no. I'm not wrong.

Merch = get 292 gold for it.
Sell at 5e = 50,000 gold for it.
50,000 is more than 292.

Sell at 1e = 10,000 gold for it .
10,000 is more than 292.
