So I tried the combo Great conflagatrion ----> Winter with all team with mantra of frost and only could pass 1st mob group in DoA. This makes all damage to be ice based so that they benefit of mantra of frost.
I had to manage all heroes to use it, and putted a lot of inspiration magic on them. The amount of damage reduced + energy that the stance gives should provide in theory a great survibality.
Any ideas to make this work in practice, not just in theory and make this a safe but slow heroway for DoA?

Using Winter and Mantra of Frost is a nice synergy of skills, but sadly not that much fitting for active useage.
The spirits can die very fast, and stances can be removed and no other stances may be used; this way you either loose much gaming speed, or loose the benefits.
It was used in the Frost-Dwg doa farm, where you had 8 reallife players, where everyone could make his own decissions and the rit was able to port the spirits around, so enemy melees werent able to reach them.
In my opinion there are more effective ways to do Doa with heroes, but good luck if you figure out a way that would make it work for you.

If you're talking about The City of Torc'qua, the bigger problem is not damage, but energy denial. The mobs are tuned to rob you dry of energy and then bash you with adrenaline based hammer skills.
My trick is to turn the tides against them and use their own strategy. My heroes have super lean energy builds, Well of Weariness, Ancestor's Visage/Sympathetic Visage, and pressure damage. The mobs get hit with their own Quickening Zephyr and Famine.
YMMV, this probably won't work in the other three areas of DoA.

If you are looking for protection in DOA there are only 2 viable options imo, SY and a ST rit. The worst dmg in doa is not the armor respection dmg, it's the mesmers and only ST can do something about that. For all other dmg, go with SY.
