If you haven't heard, this could be potentially interesting.

Undead Labs, the company that Jeff Strain started to make a zombie MMO, has now hired on Patrick Wyatt. This places 2 of the original Anet founders and GW1 visionaries on the same team again. Wonder if we will see the spirit of GW1 carried into the design of their new MMO.

Copyright laws wouldn't allow it to be too close.

What I like in GW1 is making builds, and having vast amount of skills to do it. Now I doubt that would happen in a zombie MMO.. but if it did I would be all over it

Does not look similar at all to be honest.... I am afraid that even having the same people will not change a thing since they would rather do something different. There were so many cases when original developers of a hit made a new game together, usually totally different and quite often worse. One idea might be a success, other one might be a failure....

Isn't State of Decay nearly finished? Quite logical that the hirement of Wyatt doesn't change anything anymore. Also people expect too much that the visions of them stayed the same.
However they might do their next project in that direction. There is a small chance and I hope for it. Copyright Laws are not a problem at all if you want to copy Mechanics. There are no Copyrights on Mechanics. As long as they deliver new Graphics for areas, a new Brandname and new lore they are completly fine copying the rest of GW.

A zombie MMO sounds terrible to me no matter who is on the dev team.
We can hope they make a new MMO in the spirit of GW1 some day though, with true skill options and character customization.

Please let this go somewhere to end the horrific themepark MMO nightmare that is GW2.
