Hi,
Met up with three mesmer friends in the TOA today, and on a whim decided to make an all mesmer fow team. So after collecting the first 5 mesmers to invite themselves we set off..
We all took what we thought would work, viewing this as very much a trial run. With the aim of coming back after refining our skills. However the trial run turned out better than I expected. I gave us a life expectancy of 30 seconds. But actually we did better than a lot of PuG's
All Mesmer FoW Team Proof of concept..

After clearing the battlefield of all those nasty skellies Error 7's got us

And soon after 2 had to leave, making it a bit too hard to clear the top of the temple.
The run was massive fun, and all had a great time. Drops were good with 5 shards and a 15-22 gold req 8, 20% ench fell blade for me
However as a proof of concept this trial run was very succesful. I'm sure that with a hand picked mesmer team a complete fow clearance.

I'm not sure why some can't see the pictures... Odd I'm using imageshack to host them. Hmm.
Yes it's a 20% enchant pommel. Not sure where the 15% came from but the sword will be up on the auction site soon.
Thanks for the comments. It was the most PvE fun i've had in a while. UW/FoW clearances are fun but kinda routine now. Can kill mindblades when half asleep now for example.
As to why. because it's fun, different, helps prove to some that mesmers are very capable in PvE and provides a challange in builds that requires some thought. Mostly, because it's fun

Had a second test run tonight, this time to see how we could cope with the beach and spiders.
7 mesmers in FoW, definatley the best dressed Fow Team around.
Reached Rasti's house with ease
A few people got carried away attacking the spiders(not me I hasten to add. Look i'm nicely at the back..)
But we cleared all the way up to and including the shadow mobs at the other side of the forge, then came back for a screenie
Alas people had to leave as it was getting late so had an enforced leaving.
This time round it was a lot easier, having played with 6/8 mesmers before. caster control was much better, as was hex removal. All of us took some kind of interupt which meant the skales could barely get a hex off. The spiders were a pain, but using hit and fade were polished off easily.
Next run I want to try clearing the wailing lord and Griffons as those ele spikes present a challenge.
Anyway, huge fun and thanks to those who took part. The main limitation seems to be not with an all mesmer team but fending off the effects of "next day syndrome" and Err 7's
The only reall area I can see as a no go is the area around the tower of strength. I'll probably try and go there last..
