So Guild Wars has been around for years. People are still playing it. Not as many but they're there. To finish titles, get the 50/50 in HoM, get more fame points, what have you.
Something I still see in local chat are price checks. I've never really gotten into the price check thing. Just seen people call for one in local chat. Whether it's in Kamadan or GToB or where ever.
From what I see, basically someone asks for the trade value of some item by saying something like "Price check on perfect gold Zodiac longbow." Sometimes they get reply answers and usually they don't. Sometimes they'll repeat the price check call a few times.
But here's the thing. Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes when they get no answers and apparently no whispers after a few tries, they complain to everyone in local chat. They're like, "Helloooooooo! Price check here!"
I don't know what the custom is for price checks. Is everyone really obligated to drop everything like they're customer service and look up the trade value of whatever items someone is asking about? I saw it happen just now, as in today when these days most people are probably playing GW passively while watching Netflix streams. Isn't answering a price check optional?
I've seen it happen over the years in alliance chat. I figured looking up prices for other people, even if it's the same people asking all the time, was one of the obligations of that alliance in particular. But people also behave like this in local chat in major outposts.
