Hey all,
I havent played in about 6 years but installed the game again the other day so please excuse any ignorance to the game I may have. Im a lvl 19 ranger/elementalist and I have no clue what part of the story im on. I have no quests running but I was in a place called bloodstone fen. I took a mission from "Blade Scout Braden" to save some people from the white mantle. Using the henchmen I went and tried to complete the mission. After awhile I met a guy (npc) that said I was basically on my own as all his people had been slaughtered so he refused to go in again. Not soon after I reached the white mantle and killed them but the people they took hostage were killed in some sacrifice as I reached them. I'm guessing I didnt do it quick enough(?) but it wont let me re-take the mission. I moved on with life as you do and ive come now to another place called Aurora Glade and there is another npc with a similar type (abliet different goal) of mission. Can these only be attempted once? and can they be done using the henchmen as people dont seem to populate the areas im traversing.

I think you are talking about the end cinematic from the bloodstone fen mission--dont worry about the chosen being taken, its part of the story.
Yes you can re-do missions, however, the chosen will ALWAYS be taken in the end. (hit your M and you can get back to the outpost with the mission)
You might want to check out the wiki for the missions to see what you are up against:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_...primary_quests
quests for the most part are not repeatable.

Most people tend to get a run from the Northern Shiverpeaks to the Southern Shiverpeaks, thereby skipping all missions from Kryta, the Maguuma Jungle and the Crystal Desert, and then go straight for the end-game stuff. Plus, this game is rather old. So that's probably why you haven't seen many people in those outposts.
And yes, you can do Aurora Glade with just henchmen but it might be significantly harder than the previous missions you've completed. If you're having trouble then either ask for help on these forums or do some other campaign (possibly one that gives you heroes) and then come back when you have a stronger party.

Thanks for the swift replies guys.
Thanks for the Info. Good to know. I checked out a wiki for Aurora glade and it seemed a tad complex for henchmen so thought id pop in here and ask incase I couldnt retry when i failed lol but ive added that link to favourites thank you.
I think I vaguely remember getting a team and doing the run. are the missions worth doing or should I continue on to end game?
thanks for the info and the advice.
Yeah I played it awhile years ago so I know its quite old but it wasnt a moan, just an observation

Also, make sure you're on the American servers. They're a lot more populated than the European/Asian ones, though you're still not likely to be able to casually group up with people for random pieces of content.

I love the jungle and those missions (I could do without the ones in the desert---). And as Marty suggested, if its been some time, you should do the missions (in order would be nice, but ....) just to remember what the game was all about. I wouldnt worry if you finished and didnt get the bonuses, you can come back later for those.
So continue on and then see if you want to redo any of the older missions. (if you need help there is a section for pugs and groups on this forum and I know a bunch of folks like helping out)

It's worth doing if you want to get encapsulated in the lore.
