Don't know what happened. I'm not getting any XP for anything I kill. None at all. Any ideas why?

The XP you get from killing foes is scaled according to your relative levels. In other words, you gain more XP for killing foes that are a higher level to you and less from those that are lower. If you're six or more levels above the foe you won't get any. Assuming you're in the early Prophecies area, it's time to either try your hand at killing charr north of the wall or moving on through the plot.

Well, BLAST, Marty! I didn't know that you don't get ANY for foes beyond a certain level lower than you. Had no idea. That answers that. But I'm trying to grind up to level 10 so I can at least do the daily. Oh well.

Yeah, I'll have to up my game with Charr killing, I suppose, but I don't really want to solo that, you know. At any rate...

Thanks very much,

Note that those quests (the dailies) only exist for people trying to get to level 20 in pre-searing. It's not something you're meant to do. Generally people move on at levels 6-8, which leaves you adequately suited for what comes next. Reaching a high level in pre-searing was originally a novelty thing (I think 16 or 17 was the limit) that some particular people were interested in doing, though since the dailies were added reaching 20 is generally a matter of time. What is important to consider though, is that being level 20 will mean that the subsequent content will be much much easier than was intended, which will affect your experience with the game. Depends on what interests you more.

Well, I'd like to get a bit higher, as a mez, before going into Post. I don't know that I want to get to 20, though. That's a bit much.

to show you about how many levels:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Experience

a table showing how many levels higher gives how much xp, and how many levels lower gives you less and nothing (which is 6 levels lower or more than your character.... same goes for heroes and maybe pets too)

when you get to post searing ascalon most of the foes are level 3-7.
Doing the dailies in pre will get pretty boring after a while if you want to reach a higher level (most people who want to get to 20 'farm' certain easy ones for the xp, but there are only a few quests and the rotate.)

Starkman,
9-10 goes relative fast when you go charr hunting with someone. 1-3 clearings of Northlands and you have lvl 10. Or you could pay someone to powerlevel you.

If you have a daily up just kill 3 groups map back and rinse and repeat till next daily is due then turn in and repeat as above if you staying beyond 10 that way easy levelling,

Pity you did char at the gate re Rurik quest as its an easy repeatable one.

Have you chose a secondary yet ? if not just do all the secondary professions and reply at end.... I need time to think about it..... that way you can do them all for xp . As was said above if you can team up for Northlands or get someone to open gate for you and grab the quest guy in there and he will follow you some just don't claim reward and do same again.

With the new daily system you can be level 20 in a week or less by farming the daily...not doing any quests till level 17 then do those , that takes you to 18 and the monster level goes up and easy 2 levels left. unlike the Old system of death leveling

Rule of thumbs is, that you can get you can get 6 levels hugher then the foes you fight, so f.e. you become lvl9 fighting level6 enemies.
