Does anyone have a way to bring a major issue to the awareness of a GW Admin or someone significant?
There is a player responsible for DDoSing the Guild Wars servers.
If you have noticed randomly lagging out despite having working internet at often times or random times recently - it is because a player is DDoSing Anet's servers directly.
I know the player behind it, is there any way to address the issue?
I have contacted both GW1 and GW2 support with the issue. Gaile Gray has referred me to support.
So far the attacks have happened at 10:26pm CST and 12:40am CST.
GW DDOS Attacks

Apparently affecting GW2 servers as well, thus I'm sure the admins are aware.

I currently have an open ticket with GW1 and GW2.
I would honestly bombard their facebook page, both their Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 facebook page. You know why? Because companies absolutely HATE when you take your problems onto their facebook page, as that's where people see it, and that's where people get an idea of how they deal with stuff. It takes them days, sometimes weeks to reply to anything, and from the look of stuff they do not care the least about their games, and I'm certain they couldn't care less if someone literarly shut Guild Wars down. As long as it barely affects their second. Guild Wars PvP is falling into a pit of who can run the most bots, and now this. This is what happens when nobody cares enough.
Edit: try to anger him enough to hit them so hard it prevents people from buying gems, that should make them care enough.

Sep 18 20:22 I really am not sure the venue to go for this issue, so I hope you do not mind me borrowing a minute of your personal time. You may or may not be familiar with, but Guild Wars has been seeing a recent attack of "DDOS" attacks. I was wondering if there was anyway to address the issue or who I could go to for this issue? The only thing I can provide is that its happening to the GW1 servers and I have a lead on the player responsible. I also think they have the capability of DDoS attacking GW2 servers if they wanted. I would hope that the player's in game name would give you a list of ip addresses to use to contact him/address the issue. The Guild Wars 1 player's in game name is "__________". You can check the in game log of "_________". You will see on 9/18/2014 he threatened to have Anets servers ddos'd and shut down. Within a short amount of time, many of the Guild Wars servers lagged out and players were disconnected. |

To Guild Wars 2 Support Today at 3:54 PM Hi GM Kalameet! Thank you for responding as I was not sure if this is something you would address. I want to add that at 12:40am CST 9/19/2014, another DDOS attack of the same manner occurred. |
From the responses I am getting, it does look like that is the case.
So from now on, I would like it if anyone and everyone could message me times that the server crashes for them. If it is a time that I miss or lines up with a time that looks like a DDOS attack, I would like to add it to the email responses to help their investigation.

Motoko did you include in the email that you were using multiple accounts to sync r15 Hero for the past 6 months. You got very close this week and as you were 16v8ing teams and spamming local chat "LOL VIRGINS GL OUTPOST" some guy named "_______" used a $5 web booter and temporarily stopped your synced hall of heros match enough for you to restart. This is nothing compared to LizardSquad and a botnet attacking PlayNC's entire login server.
Epic fail and good job turning yourself in for syncing.

I encourage you to keep doing it ^_^.
P.S. Oh and trust me, I gave them EVERYTHING they need to know

I love how Kalameet responds with "Rest assure that we work to maintain a safe gameplay environment."
More like maintaining a safe syncing environment. What's even more pathetic is how Motoko spun the situation around. GW1 has over 100 IP's. Some players DDoS the Hall of Heros IP one time causing these cheaters to restart at 0 fame. Isn't that pathetic? And they come crying to us here for support and none of us were syncing with them... |
Oh and as far as support here? All I am looking for is people to provide me times of servers going offline when I am not around to experience it myself.
It sounds like you are either
A) A friend of the DDOSing player.
B) Mad that those fame syncers won't let you join them.
You are emotionally invested in your post, too emotionally invested to not have some sort of connection - otherwise you would stay silent and not comment at all.

Let me know if you need further assistance with any English comprehension.
Oh, while we are on the subject of keeping Guild Wars a safe and healthy environment:

Hi, looking to buy 1 or two guilds with 1100+ raiting. Don't care if it has trim, just raiting. I'll pay extra for the trims value if it has one so you make your money back.
Your choice... Ectos, Zkeys, or Armbraces. Private message me here with name/raiting or rank is easiest for me, but if you can catch me ingame, also free to do so but is harder. IGN: Chk Mate Thank you! |
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

How is that even relevant? I don't deny trying to buy guilds.
I'm exposing how you play the victim in everything. All that happened was you were cheating Heros Ascent using multiple accounts, and Monkie stopped you for a short period of time. Again, everyone outside of Heros Ascent was not affected, and you should not be there in the first place. So why cry on guru again? |
These attacks are affecting the game servers. I have accounts in other districts such as Kamadan that suffer lagging out as well. Yet the other half of my accounts stay online without issue. The DDoS attacks occur when Warehouse is in halls yes, but it is game wide.
Notice how Cosy was wondering what was going on as well?
Maybe after your brain is done hurting from trying to comprehend its own stupidity, you can try putting on a tinfoil hat.
^_^
