10/10 Sword Sunderings
Pleikki
Okay, so after following the market on these nowadays i wanted to make a thread about it.
I dont know if ppl dont know this, forgot it, or just dont care.
But sword version of 10/10 "Oldschool" Sunderings are still avaible and shoudlnt imo be sold at same values as other Weapon types,
So for those who dont know it yet, the fact that been around here and discussed somewhere before that this quest
http://guildwiki.gamepedia.com/Fires_in_the_east
Gives as quest reward a blue sword, from which you can salvage 10/10 Sundering from. Its avaible for all Prophecies characters.
And for "Farming" these, you can just remake new char if u got free slot and do it over and over again and get infinite 10/10 mods!
Hopefully it helps someone, and now everyone can get their oldschool swords filled with 10/10s!

Selling elusive things that apparently are easy to obtain should not have astronomical prices.

I have always known this of course.
But I have full character slots on my account, all with characters that are a long way through the game. I won't be creating any more characters, buying any more slots, or deleting any of my existing characters.
So the only way to acquire these is to buy them from other players. They have always been overpriced, and there are several for sale right now on this website, but I have needed them at times when they weren't readily available. Perhaps I have too much disposable cash....
If people don't read this thread, it's their loss as knowledge is power.

That's the price. I don't need to sell him. If you want him you can pay for him that's all. Can you get a Kuunavang as a quest reward ?
Someone trying to get 100e on a quest reward is a scumbag.
Someone upping the value for something they don't need to sell is not the same thing.
Now lets take a look at how others value their items.
For example weapons without a damage modifier or what someone wants to label them as "Template Weapons" I personally feel they are merchant food.
A r8 inscribable sword being worth 10 unded Kanaxai and Panda's ? That is just silly but do you comment on that ? Nope.
The small amount of mini pets that I am selling imho are undervalued and underpriced. Will I be upset if someone gets one cheaper than my sale price ? Nope.
Will I be upset if someone else sells one of my pets cheaper ? Nope.
Keep on paying stupid prices on Bone Dragon Staff, Voltaic Spears, Frog Scepters, and the like and that's ok. But don't try and single me out for listing a few mini pets for the prices I feel they are worth and wont sell for less because I like them. You all have items you feel the same about. This thread is about pointing out your fellow collectors who are taking advantage of others by selling a quest reward item that is easily obtainable. Something totally different.

Nope, it's because you claimed to be fixing the issue when you had listed your own hilts at 100e at first. Then you edited it fast when you saw this thread, claiming to agree with the points here, and Told us not to worry. Shameful and dishonest.
We saw what you did, and your approach here makes it even more shifty as you claimed to be fixing it.
Yes they are.

Pretty accurate?

actually I'm thinking its more like RoJ...with a good knock down --that lasts for many days

I dont get why people always complain about the prices other people set in their own guru threads. Imo each and everyone of us has the right to set whatever price he sees fit for his items, if someone thinks the price is to high he will just not buy it, I mean why would he? And if someone buys it maybe it wasnt to high in the first place or the person just doesnt care. In the end its always teh decision of the buyer himself, its his job to find the best price for an item he wants to buy, if he doesnt wanna invest the time to find it, thats his decision and his problem then.
I mean if I wanna buy sth in RL and just google it, click on the first online shop listed and just buy it, will it be the best offer I can get? Probably not. So most people just compare offers first, its the same in RL as in this game and it often only takes a few minutes, ofc the longer u investigate the better offers ull prolly find, but just taking a few minutes to only avoid buying sth rly overpriced is sufficient most of the time anyways.
So people rly should learn to mind their own business instead of complaining and bitching about others all the time, doesnt help anyone anyways. Just my 2 cents

Handler, I'd agree except for the part that people are using deception to overvalue items, like the 10/10 Sword mod in question. Saying something will never appear in the game again is quite different than saying it comes from an obscure and relatively tedious quest.
That is pretty close to fraud.
Complaining about overpricing items that are able to drop but "rare" like Inscr BDS, Frogs, etc. is a very different story, as those are a factor of demand. With those the demand is very high and the supply is limited. The supply of 10/10 Sword Sunderings is potentially unlimited. I think most people have a problem with people willingly obfuscating the truth about an item that's relatively simple to obtain.
As far as overpricing things like Minis and what not, I think the market fixes those problems by itself. Eventually no one will buy it and the seller will reduce their price; or, in the alternative, the seller keeps it.
If that isn't the case, someone buys it, gets their mini and moves on. Perhaps they overpayed, but they still got what they wanted. I know as a collector I'm relatively uncompromising and impatient about what I want, and it has led me to pay a lot more than what an item is worth sometimes. Is this annoying? Sure, but I wouldn't go back and trade for that same amount of cash.
Fundamentally prices come down to what a seller in willing to sell for, and what a buyer is willing to buy for. There's not much else to it. But in a special instance like these sword mods, there is a factor of duplicity that isn't as obvious relevant as in the other examples. Because of this, there is a strong gut reaction against it, and, moreover, a legitimate ethical ethical responsibility as members of Guru to warn people, which we have probably covered by making this thread.
Anyway, people are getting mad over video games too much imo. I've been yelled at enough in the past week regarding items that it almost makes me want to go back into retirement. Why not just live and let live? At the end of the day a person's reputation is what matters, and if you don't like a trader you're under no obligation to trade with them anyway. At the end of the day the items are just pixels--the cool thing this game and guru offers is a community of interested folks with which to geek out over said cool pixels.
Cheers,
Yuko

well its always sth different if ur in kama n someone asks u about an item and u tell him some fancy made up stories for hours just to make him buy ur overpriced item.
But I think in general if u have listed sth on ur guru thread and u have a b/o price there for it, this doesnt rly say "oh that item sure is worth that much" it basically only says "I (the Threadowner) have this item here and chances are very very high that Id let it go for that listed price" ... Nothing else rly. So in the end its still up to the buyer what he then does with this information. If hes intelligent he tries to get informations about any item he (for whatever reasons) wants to buy, so if he finds an item he wants and the listed price is way more than he expected or is willing to pay he can just pm the seller and try to negotiate or just move on to another thread.
Negotiation how it prolly would go in the 10/10 case:
Buyer: Dear Seller, why are u listing a 10/10 mod in ur thread for 100e (or more)? Dont u know u can get it in a quest? Considering that fact, would u be willing to lower ur price?
Seller: Possibility 1: Dear Buyer, sry I didnt know that and I just rly want to sell it for a good price. Since I wasnt sure about the price I started high, but we sure can go from there and try to find a price that works for the both of us.
Seller: Possibility 2: Dear Buyer, I indeed knew about that, but I often need those kind of mods myself so Im not rly desperately tryin to sell here, just listed it in case someone needs one asap and cant find any other, so he at least then knows that I have one I could spare if the price was a bit higher than usual. I therefore recommend that u first look if u can find another seller who rly doesnt need the mod and would let it go for less.
Example of fraud for the same case would be:
Buyer: Dear Seller, u listed a 10/10 sword mod on ur thread with a seemingly high price of 100e. Why are u asking that much for it?
Seller: Well its totally worth that much, cuz its a rare prenerf Mod that cant drop anymore u will not find many others of its kind. U should be glad that Im not asking more for it.
