The Truth about Pre-Nerf

The Greetings Gurus.
I thought it might be helpful to collate a list of stats we know to be Pre-Nerf.
An item is considered Pre-Nerf if it cannnot drop any more. In other words, the possibility of the game generating these stats or items has been physically removed by the coders at Anet, mainly 2005/2006 around the release of Factions. The only way to acquire Pre-Nerf items is through trading with other players.
This is a list of items which in my opinion are truly Pre-Nerf (and the purpose of this thread is to confirm and add/remove stat ranges in order to establish a definitive list). I haven't included Triple Modded items or Mausoleum items because those are considered bugged, not Pre-Nerf.
These are known to be Pre-Nerf:
Any weapons
- Any weapon in r7 with max damage regardless of mods
- Any FACTIONS staff with a restoration requirement
- Any FACTIONS wand with a restoration requirement
- Any r8 staff with max (11-22) damage
- Any weapon with an unconditional inherent damage mod, eg. +14% damage with no negatives
- Any GOLD staff with a requirement of 0
- Any staff whose HSR mod is written in GOLD text.
Any Shields
- Any shield in r7 with 16 armour regardless of mods
- Any shield with two inherent [reduces physical damage received by X] mods (aka Dual Reduction).
- Any shield with a [received physical damage -3(10%)] mod. (including non-max mods)
Gold Shields
- Any GOLD shield with a -2/hexed mod. (These only come -3/hexed now)
- Any GOLD shield with a -1/enchanted or -1/stance mod. (These only come -2 now)
- Any GOLD shield with a +40/[stance or enchanted] or lower inherent mod.
- Any GOLD shield with a +8 armour or lower vs damage type mod. For example +8 armour vs slashing
- Any GOLD shield with a +26hp or lower inherent mod.
- Any GOLD shield with a non max -5(20%) mod (these only come -5/20 or -5/19% now). For example -4(19%).
Purple Shields
- Any PURPLE shield with a +19hp or lower inherent mod.
- Any PURPLE shield with a +29/[stance or enchanted] or lower inherent mod.
GOLD weapons
- Any GOLD Non-inscribable weapon with +13%[condition] or lower inherent mod
- Any GOLD Non-inscribable weapon with +18%[while Hexed] or lower inherrent mod
- Any GOLD Non-inscribable weapons with +18%[below 50%] or lower inherrent mod
Purple Weapons
- Any PURPLE Non-inscribable weapon with +11 or 12%[condition]
- Any PURPLE Non-inscribable weapon with +xx%/-5 energy, +xx%/-10 armour or +xx%/-1[energy or health] regen
Specific skins
- Any GOLD non-inscribable Crystalline sword

also most of the shields can drop those mods you listed in purples/blues, so in ANY GOLD theyre nerfed
also there are other then sword 25% vs charr mods, so well overall all 25% vs charr mods are nerfed
edit x5, also serpent axes tyrian also drops purple still, as well as krytan axes crystas dwarvens etc, so should be only gold versions are nerfed :P
also youve listed max q8 staffs being nerfed but its safe to say q8 axes, hammers, wands bows are also nerfed since there hasnt been confirmed drops in years

and also Gold staffs with Req 0 are nerfed and only excist as prenerf as far as iknow (these used be quite a thing back in time havent seen any in years tho)

Edited old post allready too many times. So 20% while hex or below 50% only drops 19-20% in golds so 15-18% are nerfed
EDIT. so i think the list should be made easyer to read with diff sections for gold prenerfs. Purples. Blues. And others like weapon mods. Runes dyes jade wind orbs etc.

Restoration Staffs, Offhands, and Wands are assumed to still drop in OS in Factions, they use Basic skins like Writhing Focus, and Restoration Rod, personally i had those dropped in Purple and Gold, but only in Nightfall and EoTN. |

The only shields that still drop with -2^hex, -1^ench/stance, and +7AL are exclusively ONLY below Q6 in Purple, and ONLY in the following regions : All of Pre-Searing, Old Ascalon, Northern Shiverpeaks.
The level of these area's vary between 1-12 in general, may drop from local enemy's and chests.

With the introduction of "Daily Quests" in Pre-Searing that can scale up enemys to level 14-18, increase the odds of gold drops, very beneficial for the Dwarven Hammer and the Krytan Axe, as its the only place where it still possibly can drop in Gold OS.
I'm pretty sure that Flint had such hammer for sale like 1-2 years ago for 90-135 Black Dye / 1:3 post ratio.

Purples can have still 4/19 etc and 5/17 etc mods aswell. aswell as 7-8ar vs someting

think you should specify:
It´s shields that have -2wS AND a sec dmg reduction mod - dual inherent (like -2wS +10vsSlashing etc.) do still drop frequently. There are no shields like -3wH/-2wE - the "nerf" just put -2wS in the same category as any other dmg red mods wich was not the case before.
Furthermore there are certain non max DMG ranges that do no more drop at certain reqs - just tracking max dmg´s lowest req was interesting, so I think this information cannot be retrieved.
On runes: I´m not pro here... but name written in blue medium and high runes, medium and high runes with small icon, medium runes -50HP
On shields:

Hello ! For a fact i know there were more then 3-4 gold drops. Yes they happened for a very brief time. And there were certain people who bought a decent amount of them.
Except the ones posted by Flint quite a while ago, i can confrim i peresonally have seen atlest 4-5 more golds even Staffs ingame. Most of their owners are sadly inactive or banned.
But im sure there are pretty good amount of them.
P.S: Yeah you can't drop them anymore ^^

So from those skin staffs And Wands/scepters Restoration is nerfed! And other universal ones aswell, like wayward

Max damage R8 Golds out of chests. (might only be martial weapons) Someone I think proved me wrong once but I never saw a screenshot. 1000 lockpicks got me 0 and I remember it killed FoW chest runs years ago.

You can still get Req8 Gold Max Items (Swords, Shields, Offhands only tho) from 450gold Chests (for canthan / kournan chests I'm 100% sure) ;-)

So just to clarify it for myself as I have a hard time to truely understand this matter..

The +25hp to me does ring a Bell but im not entirely sure that that makes it pre-nerf as post nerf variables go from 10-30hp (blue, Purple, gold Rarity).
Imy had a plague if i recall correctly with a similar "low" hp while Hexed but was still "post nerf"
I assume myself that +10-20 comes on blues, 21-27 on purples and 27-30's on golds.. But since every rarity has a huge chance to yield a mod variable fitting to other raritys (like a purple shield still being able to generate a max mod, like -20% something, and a gold +40hp^ench stance) its still somewhat confusing to me..
So if anyone is able to explain or show me what mods fit in a certain quallity I can get more understanding of how those are appraised as either post or pre-nerf.

And yea, Imy's was 24hp and purple.
The gold shield you bought is indeed pre-nerf, as +25 cannot drop any more on a gold shield.

Lets say it this way. As far as I know, the HP Mods with +30HP were possible pre-nref, so a low req. shield with +30HP could have dropped before the change in the coding, however there is no way of proving that it is really pre-nerf item and no way of distinguishing it from a post-nerf shield with the same stats-
A shield with the stats r8/16 is only 100% proven to be prenerf if it follows the rules stated above (gold +25HP or lower, etc...).

Thanks for the heads up guys, and even after checking the first page (like i should in the first place inb4 posting) it seems about right with anything +25hp and below is considered pre nerf.
It was just such a close call that I had a slight doubt from personal knowledge about pre-nerfs.
Good that you point this out, to come back on this I wonder if any gold (non Inscrip / non inherent) crystalline is considered pre-nerf, and or if they still have a slight chance of being generated by the UW/FoW and or Zchest.
I myself used to have a Req 9 and 11 (currently only got a Req 8), but since I also have some pretty "rare" non inscriptable EoTN and NF items, i wonder if someone can still prove said item (crysta) came from the pre-factions era.
Or if its something that still could happen to this day.
Pretty sure iv had seen this aswell couple years back, but post factions for sure.

+26hp is also prenerf. But Max i ment abou the non max mods. not req like q7 items..
Ie. the change that made those mod ranges was way before the update that removed q7 drops.

Cus i dont call q7 prenerf for same reasons as q8.. since techically all q8 hammer axe etc are too "prenerf" but its simpler for most and generally used just call the mods prenerf not reqs of weapons
