Back when I PvPed there was no reward for most formats at all besides titles; generally it was played for fun.

I mean yeah you could get amber/jade in AB and the chest in HA, but that was about it. Most people just wanted to enjoy some PvP, and consequently the attitude in most formats was a lot better than it is these days. People weren't so uptight and quick to turn on each other the moment a match was lost.

I think that's kinda why HA always had a bad attitude, actually - they had the chest riding on their games, so a loss was a real material loss for them, oh no, one less chest opening, whereas a loss in TA or GvG was just "well we lost but we had fun and we'll do better next time".

PvP for fun and achievements/titles the way it should be.

Well, I guess they still have trim scamming as a way to make money.

Thanks for including AB in the nerf. It's nice to see they wanna make that shit as well, I mean it's not like it wasn't already pretty much dead. The people who want to play AB are not enough or can't all be on at the same time. It funny because nobody went into AB to farm titles or faction. Those bots did JQ. I have a bad feeling this is the last week I'm gonna really see anyone playing pvp.

The 20 keys a day is just a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing annoyance really.

Edit: I understand where they are coming from, and maybe we will get our currency back(zkeys) before the "omg I got banned for no reason" people destroyed it, but I do believe a lot of people will either leave or find this annoying, some of these are just annoying. We're a tiny playerbase, instead of punishing(not talking about the botters) players they should rather look at bringing players in. Oh wait, that would never happen. Nevermind.

Eventually, it will, it's just so that in order to get an understanding of where it came from, you'd have to browse the game's wiki. The problem is that without being involved into Guild Wars 1's interiors on a weekly basis, it's hard for ArenaNet's designers to get an accurate understanding of what the appropriate caps for every PvP area should be.

No need to worry, though: I'm sure the presented changes will be adjusted accordingly in the course of the next few weeks, so that they aren't going to interfere with the daily routine of regular, fair PvP players.

"Pre-nerf" is incorrect. It's pre-buff.

Why the one minute no-faction rule? The synching and botting is a problem but it's not my problem to fix.

How about you terminate the accounts of the abusers rather than blanket screwing the entire community in a slack-jawed lazy way?

in 2008 there were 15 times the amount of players also.

Imo this update isn't helping the game it's destroying it.

OK kick the botters, leave the syncers & scammers & gold sellers but no ones left. They are punishing the few left that actually enjoyed the game to the point if they were going to try for pvp max titles they won't get them. not very fair to to non baddies.

just like when anet removed hero battles, their changes punish the abusers, but also everyone who plays honorably, this update sucks

I rather see the game die altogether than get abused the way it was.

Anything but cherry pick the individuals. It's a powerful tool to ban individual abusers because it makes its way to forums and people will take heed.

Anet or NCSoft or whoever the overlords are are dreadful at moderating their own game. Every single format from PvE, RA to GvG has been thoroughly exploited by means which are breaches of the EULA which the devs hold up as their holy constitution. Their reactions to these abuses are always profoundly delayed and clumsily implemented (see GW2 in its entirety for an example of the latter).

For every minute that they do not take appropriate action against the abuse is is an ever growing gesture of disrespect to those who use their product legitimately and in good faith. After all that is the reason the abuse/exploitation is so damaging: it affects everybody else, mostly adversely, even those who are playing modestly.

I feel like I've tolerated a lot of bad from the game but between GW2 and the latest decisions I have vowed, for what it's worth, never to spend another penny on NCSoft products.

As you'll remember the only PvP format with shiny rewards at the beginning of Guild Wars was HA (FKA Tombs) whereby people could farm for their shiny /rank, shiny crystalline or shiny dwarven axe. That was the reason HA was so chock-full of absolute desperate trash like IWAY, ranger spike, VIMWay, thumpers and blood spike, all furiously and desperately trying to button mash their way to Halls and farm fame. It was the guild wars equivalent of junk food.

GvG for the most part retained its dignity for a long time until they introduced SHINY capes to engorge folks' e-peen.

Tl;dr. Shiny stuff draws people with fly IQs to the proverbial turd.

On the other hand, you might... at least it was my original goal while proposing changes for Heroes' Ascent: so that everyone, not only the syncers could get their titles. The story continues today: hope you appreciate the most recent adjustments.
