Hello.
Arena Net are offering a nice Anniversary storage pane just for showing one Proof of Steel to an NPC.
The Proof of Steel can only be got in HA. I figured take a PvP character and go lose some matches. (In fact the account in question has only got PvP characters.)
However after getting my Proof, I now can't get to Embark.
A follow up - ArenaNet only expect PvE characters to do HA for this reward?
Answer
The answer is no, you cannot go to Embark Beach as a PvP character (makes sense - why would you, you can't go anywhere..).
However the Wiki page for the Xunlai Anniversary Storage Voucher was incorrect in saying that a Proof of Steel could be used to get it, even with a PvE character this is not possible.
I have updated the wiki page.
Sigh.
Getting to Embark Beach with PvP Character - is it possible?

It had said that you had to show a proof of LEGEND not steel to the npc, perhaps someone had changed it since the only characters that can get the legends are pve and the only characters to be able to get to embark are also pve.
so make a pve character in nightfall and do the chaback mission and then level up to 5 (shouldnt take long) do the mission again and get the proof--then delete the character and make your pvp characters again.

Once you have a Proof of Legend or two in your bags, it's time to visit Embark Beach for some unique rewards! First, speak with Palora, Sworn to Earth on the ship docked at the beach. She'll give you a special reward just for showing her one of your hard-earned Proofs of Legend. You won't lose the proof, so be sure to visit Palora before giving all of your proofs to a collector. |

Yes it does, I should have tried to get to the NPC first before going to HA.
The wiki page for the Xunlai Anniversary Storage Voucher listed a Proof of Steel as being able to be shown to Palora. Hence my confusion.

The account I wanted to get it on only had Prophecies, so it was a run through Pre, jump to Post, levelled to 5 and then ran myself through Great Northern Wall. -.-

All you need is to do one of your PvE toons in Chebek village to get the storage unit. Just one proof shown is enough for the storage. Lady hands you a scroll and you click on scroll and poof, extra pane.
I made one for the hell of it to see how long it would take and answer is not long. There are a lot of small side quests from AI in Kamadan giving good experience points. You don't need to go further than cross the small little plain to the next outpost and kill a few things with the help of Koss and henchmen. Even get a free Minor Vigor rune with one of the early quests.
PS: Whoops just saw your post. Need to find a guildie to run you to Lion's Arch I guess then. That's a pain. Didn't even know they still sold separate campaigns anymore. Leaving the rest of in case someone reads this who needs to know of the quick Nightfall option though.

guess I had not looked at that page, only the update notes (got mine before that page was made too...).
It is listed correctly on the game update notes for the 22nd, guess whoever made the page was confused at the time.
