Windows 10 and GW question
Perkunas
My laptop has Win 7. In the bottom right corner, near the Date/Time, I am being offered Win 10. Will GW play as it should, if I decide to "upgrade" to Win 10? Any known issues with compatability?

I would be interested to know this as well but I'm guessing that Windows 10 is going to have a lot of other bugs too, so I'd still avoid it for a few months after it is released.
I read that, as long as you have Windows 7 or 8.1, you will be able to download Windows 10, for free, for up to a year after it launches, on July 29th.

Win10 just be upgrade a few new UI or the optimization. Gw1 can run it ^^ Note the word: upgrade. It tells you guy should save at all to ready upgrade it.

OP: don't upgrade until you know for sure and hear feedback from other people. Don't forget you could run into issues with applications other than guild wars as well as your drivers which could hobble you too.
I think windows 8 and beyond is just a nightmare overall. Way too dumbed down for the everyone crowd and no power user or professional version exists for people won don't want to deal with all the BS. My cousin has it and it's a mess. I can only imagine windows 10.

Well this could be bad news. I emailed support and asked them about Windows 10 and this is the response I got.
Hello Jayson,
After reviewing the information provided I'm able to let you know that the original Guild Wars development team stopped supporting the original Guild Wars a long time ago, so, we can't give you a guarantee that the game will run perfectly.
Please feel free to contact us in the future if you need any assistance!

I'm rather saddened by this because this because I play only two games atm, Need for speed World and Guild Wars. NFSW is shutting down mid July and now this game may be unplayable on Windows 10. Guess I won't be getting the W10 upgrade after all.

They said they can't "guarantee that the game will run perfectly" so basically they avoided your question by giving you a neutral response.
I'll be playing Fable Legends, which requires Windows 10 and will be released this Autumn (so in December at the very latest). At that time, I'll upgrade to Windows 10 and let you guys know. So check back here in 6 months :P
Edit: I don't feel the need to bump this topic but I wanted to update this post and say that I've downloaded Windows 10 and I haven't noticed any issues with running GW. So the only thing that has changed for me is that my interface looks a little prettier and I haven't noticed any increase or decrease in my laptop performance.

From my playing around with the release candidates, it will work fine. Though I didn't play around for long, VM's are bad at playing games xD
One issue i had is that if you like playing windowed with the window covering the screen, it will no longer stretch all the way due to the new window border design :c

Until all the bad update issues with Win 10 die down, I will stay away from it. Will keep checking back every so often to see if any game issues crop up.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Works fine for me on Win10, haven't come across any issues with it at all!
