Hello there, i have recently came back to playing guildwars after i quit about 8 years ago. I have started a new character in factions campaign and i noticed that there are some bosses which pretty much just 1 hit me. Now i have made a new character (assasin) and i wanna get the survivor title (3) on him. Now i know theres something about a brawling minigame in Eotn which supposedly is really good for getting survivor title. However i have no clue how to get to this place. Can someone enlighten me and give me some basic tips on creating a survivor starting in the faction campaign.

Thanks alot!

Any melee character is going to be at an increased level of danger compared to a spell caster or a ranged attacker. So I suggest picking a ranged build of some kind instead of using daggers or any melee weapon. Maybe use spears, bows, or even Elementalist or Ritualist skills when you're going though the storyline. On my Assassin, I usually spam the elite skill Assassin's Promise and 3 PvE skills: Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, "Finish Him!" and then either "You Move Like a Dwarf!" or Cry of Pain (from Mesmer secondary).

As for the brawling minigame, you're talking about the dungeon called Fronis Irontoe's Lair. In order to get to it, you'll have to finish the primary quests in Shing Jea Island and get to Kaineng Center when you're level 10 or above. Once there, Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon will give you a quest called "I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet". And, after you complete that, you will have to keep doing the primary quests from EoTN until you get to Gunnar's Hold. And, in that outpost, you should complete the quests given by Kilroy Stoneskin: "Punch the Clown", Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza! (which is the quest for the dungeon that I mentioned at the beginning), and The Throwdown in a Norn Town. That last quest is important because you'll need Thunderfist's Brass Knuckles in order to do more damage and so you can upgrade your brawling daggers with a Furious mod (10% chance of double adrenaline), "Brawn over Brains" inscription (+15% damage and -5 energy), or Shelter mod (+7 armor vs. physical damage). Also, when you are brawling, make sure you have the maximum amount of dagger mastery and critical strikes that you can get, and maybe get an armor insignia that boosts your armor rating like Nightstalker or Saboteur. Lastly, go to Menu > Options > Control, click on "Action: Use Skill 8" and add a bunch of keys so that, if you die while brawling, you'll have an easier time getting back up.

Let us know if you have any specific questions

Thanks alot Schmerdro. Very clear response! I adjusted my keybindings already so you'r last point of advice is already settled. I think i would be fine if i just immediatly go to Eotn and do those quests you talked about and just brawl my survivor title up.

For the OP, some of these skills require some hard quests to be completed in order to acquire them. In any case, if you are building an Assassin, it may be worth to look into spectral vaettir farm in Jaga Moraine - huge amounts of experience!

Also, something you may not be aware of as it's been so long since you last played: you no longer need to have zero deaths to gain the title. You just need accumulate 1,337,500 xp between deaths. As such, you don't need to worry too much about dying on your way to getting to your preferred farming spot / skill locations / whatnot, though obviously it's better to stay alive and keep whatever progress you have at the time. Type /deaths in the chat console to see your current progress.

I got several survivor titles on characters by just doing the Kilroy thing at Gunnar's Hold in NM with XP scrolls. A few a day until I got bored. It adds up and is pretty safe in NM mode barring a disconnect. I just park the character I'm working on at Gunner's and grind away for a week or two. Get bored on the runs? Play with my other characters elsewhere and come back to the runs later.

Note: To re-set that Kilroy run after you get your reward you have to zone back out and in or just switch zones from say American to International. Or go to your guild hall and back. That will re-set the quest too.

Wow, i did not know that. That is very good to hear cause i felt so sad after i died on my lvl 15 pre ascalon ranger. Now i know i only lost 80k of experience progress, cause i was planning on leaving pre ascalon after i hit lvl 20 for the title anyway. Also i read it a little to late and deleted one of my lvl 16 warriors as i wasnt satisfied cause he was not a survivor ;p

I got my title from story books. I saved up until I had 3 each. Turned them in all at once. There was no stress from what if. Also sine I did them all on the z day I got human help, lots of z coins and maxed out some rep titles.
