Which Hero Would You Take?

While playing Skyrim you'll hire or get a mercenary assigned to travel along with you on your adventures.

You feel suddenly nostalgic as can be and decide to relive the adventure with a companion.
You"ll be going on a "solo prophecies" tour, and have one merc or hero at you're disposal which you could not change for a diffrent profession once taken.

What type of profession would you be?, and which profession follower (hero/merc) would you take along with you, and why?

I'd play Warrior, because I want to. On the practical side, the melee presence also helps a lot. There's a guy on YouTube called WoodenPotatoes who was soloing the campaigns with a Warrior. Haven't watched much of them, though he's using Shadow Form and plenty of consumables by the end which is a bit disappointing (but possibly necessary).

The hero would probably be a Necro or Ele. Some kind of flexible caster type. Could cheese it by taking a Rit and having them just spirit spam their way through.
