Decided to add a few new items to the PC thread out of my old collection (more like hoarding of crap ) to see if they are worth selling to make space in my inventory... more will follow, but they will be added in smaller batches
r10 20/20 Death Bone staff (I also have the same staff in R9 which Id also like a PC on if possible)
A scepter I like to call Dr. Death because it has everything from plague to death and healing
r9 Death magic Plagueborn Scepter
10% HRT all
19% HCT Healing
Baneful Scepter r12 Smiting 10/10
r9 Smiting Hallowed Idol
HSR 9%
HCT Smiting 19%
r9 Death Grim Cesta
HSR Death 19%
+5AR vs Elemental Damage
Curiosity Demonshield with max mods... but with one "slight" down side
Quote:
Just out of curiosity to see what one particular shield in my colection would be worth (Im keeping it, so just out of curiosity).
It has (had?) perfect DoA max mods (+10AR vs. Demons and -2/e) which is not unusual for an r9 shield. However it has the lowest possible base Armour rating (12AR instead of 16) for that requirement as far as I can recall.
I know this would have been something for Firefighter Fred back in the days (he used to collect minium stat items) and it might have actually come from one of his collections, but would there be any pricetag for this one of a kind item?

Back up to the top. Still curious as to the "worth" of this collector shield as;
1. Ive been out of the game far too long to know the current prices (even the Ecto price of 12Plat had me stunned as it was only about 6 or 7 when I left)
2. Even if I were still into the pricing market, this one would have had me personally stumped.

Honestly it's hard to PC demons shields because it's a very particular market.
They worth more than "classic" shields because they have an utility and people with money (doa players) to afford them.
That said, a collector will pay less and a doa player will look for max armor shield. The skin is far less wanted than echovald, bladed or outcast and co.
I'm collecting demons shields and I played doa for years, but i wouldn't spend more than 40e in non max one

Dwayna has said everything I would say about these too. They're very specialist, so valuing them is tricky at best. Only way to be sure is to list them and see where they go....

I'll add some clarification as to why this shield is only worth 10-50e in my book. It's req strength. Req strength shields have never been desired for doa. People pay for tactics. Not str. So I don't think this would ever sell for more than 50e. If it even gets close.
It's also not even close to max armor.

Yea, I never understood why that was. There are no warriors in a DoAsc, either primary or secondary. Therefore, the 16 armour can never be achieved anyway. The requirement of the shield has not been met, so it will provide the base 8 armour, irrespective of strength or tactics, or what class holds it. For that reason, statistically speaking, a r9/12 or r4/12 shield with DoAsc mods is as useful as a r8/16, 7/15 or 13/16.
Perhaps it's just a vanity thing on the part of the DoAsc players, and tactics is more fashionable? I don't know, but it would be great to clarify this, at least for me....

Most of the DoA guilds use at least one A/W for "trench tank" because he only has assa skills. That's why tactics worth more.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ive added a few more items for a new batch of PC fun
================Comments to past items============================
@surge: Yes I am very aware that the shield does not have a max armour rating. It is actually exactly the opposite of a max armour shield in the way that it has the lowest possible armour rating for an r9 golden shield (hence why it is staying in my collection as a curiosity).
As for the strength/tactics discussion. the reason why I started collecting Demoncaster and demoncondition shields is because I used to do DoA balanced speed clears for all classes (we managed to get down to 1:20 for all areas) with my guild before GW2 came around and everyone went in different directions. We actually used Warriors with Strength statistics to spike mobs down with Swords Hammers and Axes.
For anyone that is interrested, the builds are still archived (link in the spoiler tag although the discusion is all in German).
