Hey,

I had my laptop running with no problems as usually, went to the grocery store and upon returning i found my laptop in a prettymuch comatose state.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 7750 with IntelHD Graphics 3000, Intelcore i3(-2330M)

I tried to reboot it serval times to get a reaction out of it, judging by the fans and showing split second images like the Windows OS logo, and the Black Screen where u can choose ur OS (in my case Windows 7 or Linux) with the appropiate boot settings (Normal, Safe mode etc) - but all of these for just 0,5 seconds turning back to bright black..

I'm successfully able to type as we speak on my laptop, but dual screened on my TV.
As far that i'v been able to search the internet, it tells me that its either :

- (Tried) Holding Alt + F11/12 too reset things.
- Update (outdated?) drivers.
- Try the Default BIOS settings.
- Battery unable to supply sufficient power.
- Internal contact points may be damaged / unbinded.

Before i'll continue with more actions i'd like some suggestions from a tech guy, or someone who had experience with this before.

Thnx in advance.

Day 2.

I'v made a full copy of my HDD to an external HDD incase I might blow this up, doubt i will but you never know with computers.

Im going too reset the hardware configurations to factory in the BIOS.
If that wont work, i'll update my Drivers.
And if that combination wont work either, I'll open it up and have a look inside my laptop to see if any pins, wires or connection points are not connected, i highly suspect the big wire-string from the Motherboard to the Screen is either loose or pins non making contact / being damaged.

However if its above my skills to fix this i'd probably have to bring it to a tech Guy to fix it for me.

Cheers..

I passed this by my hubby (the IT guy) and he says either the video or hard drive are his choices; and that you are doing what he would be doing so...sounds like you have some good intel.
Are you running this on battery? If your battery isnt charging (I have a laptop right next to me which can no longer charge its battery--so we keep it plugged in) that shouldnt cause the issues--unless you are running on battery.

good luck

Brought it to my uncle (it guy) and went through the process of doing the BIOS and Drive update with no succes.
Eventually took it all apart but no contact points were damaged and all pins alligned just fine, eventually took the screen apart (LCD thus flexible) and found in the backside of the screen a minor crack that from the frontside was not visible (nor dented really).

So apparantly there has been something in between the keyboard and screen when I closed it, so i'v ordered a new screen and aswell took the advantage of it already being apart and ordered a new RAM aswell for a little more juice.

Thanks though Cosyfiep for asking ur husband, but seems its all storted now, expecting delivery this wednesday so should be all back toghether in the weekend.

(Topic can be closed i guess)
