Anyone know of legit yet cheap guild wars physical/keys

Besides that recent clearance gamestop had? Seems the only few were available in NY and NJ and of course not available through the website.
I played gw1 years ago, and then a bit more recently. I have a friend that is interested, but since he is a college student, money is an issue. For $10 he was more than willing to pick it up but... He's not in NY or NJ, and gamestop won't move it between stores if it isn't with 100 miles. Yes, yes, I know he's late to getting in on this, but he wasn't interested 2 years ago when copies were plentiful. Now it seems can't find the complete for less than $50 and the trilogy costs $30 on steam. Ideally complete or including eotn because the dungeons are what would interest him the most.
Anyways, I searched and couldn't find more than that, and while I don't really expect anyone to know more, I felt I should at least ask on the chance someone might.

I don't know of any retail selling GW. ArenaNet doesn't do sales on it as they don't want to encourage people to play. Warn your friend about buying a used key as ArenaNet still does not allow the transfer of accounts, so it remains a source of scamming (seller reports account stolen; he keeps money & game).
P.S. follow it on reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/ for notices of sales found.

you could buy it for him and then have him give you the $10? (are you in an area that has them cheap?)
otherwise, there might be a few stores out there with old copies, but unless he is lucky, I havent seen any (ones around here are full price!--the original full price, even for a game that is 11 years old).

Don't know how much 25 euros is in USD, but I've seen that website posted a few times lately as the best place to buy the game. Generally nowadays it's hard to find sellers for the complete collection; usually you need to buy the trilogy and then EotN separately. Even if it's a bit out of his price range, you could always subsidise the price personally if you really want to get him a copy.
Disclaimer: not personally vouching for that website, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it.

That would make it too easy apparently.

Indeed it does. And always was.

Where did you get this information from, mind providing a certain quote, where ArenaNet clearly states that "they don't want to encourage people to play"? I'm interested in taking a look at it, as it's not something I have ever encountered on any websites, including Reddit.

Obviously, they'll still take the money if anyone buys copies of the game, or picks something up in the store like char slots or what have you, but it's my impression (from things I have read and such) that most of the current team on Anet knows very little about the backend of the game. Heck, it was just a year or two ago that they refused a fansite interview because the dev who was going to participate knew nothing of GW1 and couldn't answer any questions.

It's quite possible that the person who planned to feature the interview wasn't well-enough aware whom exactly to address these questions, I mean, there are many ArenaNet devs in multiple departments who definitely are familiar with Guild Wars 1 and how it goes these days, take Stéphane Lo Presti or Joe Kimmes, for example. And the same is true for many of their leading Guild Wars 2 contributors, the Game Director of which, Colin Johanson, used to be the Lead Designer of Guild Wars: Bonus Mission Pack.
The concern I specifically wanted to point out is that sometimes the wishes of developers aren't accompanied by corresponding marketing decisions simply because there are certain bounds such as manpower of the team, products already in development and future plans based on what the company's investors expect, therefore, in most cases it's not as easy as "they just don't want to be worried about that".

No, I don't have a source for a direct quote on ArenaNet's attitude towards GW. It is just my opinion based upon their actions. If they wanted to encourage more players, they would lower the cost of the games as they are currently all dl content with no associated costs.
There are plenty of GW2 players who would give it a try if the games were not still selling at list price. This is also my opinion based on map chat and guild chat.
