Ascalon or Platemail

While I understand you don't want to mix sets, I would strongly advise against getting a full suit of ascalon armor; you will probably regret it down the road. Reason being, as was mentioned earlier, the damage reduction for Ascalon/Knight's armor only applies once, to the whole body, regardless of how many pieces of Ascalon/Knight's you're wearing. That makes Ascalon by far the most inferior armor for a Warrior if you're wearing more than 1 piece.
Hardcore gamers would say that gladiator's is really the only choice a warrior has for armor, but just between you and me, I think it is ugly as sin, particularly the male set. Since you're getting 15k for asthetics, I would recommend getting the plate, and taking say ascalon gloves (which you don't see much anyway) dyed to match the armor. That way you still have a respectable set of armor without any significant handicap. Worse comes to worse, if you want to do running, or PvP, or even just a higher energy build, you can always just have a Drok's glad armor on hand for the extra bonuses.

Yep - exactly. If he's getting 15K armor then throwing away the gold on a useless set is a bit steep.
By the way - Glad's ISN'T the only real armor Ws have. Please read other discussions on armor - it may provide a W with more energy, but most W builds don't need that energy anyway and it has less armor after all AND it does nothing to improve a W's terrible energy regen.
I for my part prefer Platemail/Knight's Gloves for most builds. Ws are tanks - so use them as such, not as some kind of 25-energy spell slinging madmen.

Um Lim Dul a Gladiator vs a Plated warrior will be victorious 90^% of the time because of the melee modifiers. But, the Plated warrior can deal with casters somewhat better.
@ origional poster: But, Knights alone by itself? That's a waste of plat to me. But, if you just are 100% against mixing I would go with Plate instead of Knights.

Get ascalon helm for the -2 dmg reduction and the rest gladiators. Gladiators also offer +20 armor vs physical which is better than the +10 which platemail offers but the armor of glad is 5 less. But glad makes up for this with the extra 10 vs physical and 7 energy.
So in conclusion ascalon helm and the rest gladiators.
