i have a lvl 20 Me/Mo (using Avarre's build) and it works fine when i wanna go UW, i also have a lvl 17 W/Mo that works good when i farm and stuff, but is there anything i can do to get a character for all uses?

like the 55 Me/Mo is good for UW and stuff but i find myself dieing to things i really shouldn't be while helping guildies and stuff with quests and things.

i also have a N/R that i'm slowly working on and it's not too bad but my friend uses a Necro aswell and we seem to be fighting over who gets the Bone Horror from which body because we'll both be trying at the same time.

i just want something that i can do everything with, it doesn't have to be a solo UW or anything but atleast something that is capable of being there in the first place, aswell as being able to farm and quest and things good.

it just really sucks to have to actually use moves i would use when soloing UW just to kill some Charr or something when helping with quests.

i know this was a long read but can someone please help me?

Using a build you've read on a forum or got from a friend has it's uses. Imagine the price of ectos if everybody had to develop their own farming builds , but in the end, it's learning how every skill in the game works, and how different classes combine that will make your gameplay improve.

My suggestion is that you take your Mesmer out to the desert and do all the secondary profession quests (assuming you haven't already). Sure there are some very flexible builds available for all situations, but no build is perfect all the time. Preparing your character to be able to adapt, and learning what each situation needs will do you a lot more good. Many people will say that Mesmer is a weak, or at least difficult to play PvE char, but it's flexibility to adapt to whatever you're facing is a great strength. Fast casting makes any spell caster secondary good, the inspiration line is unmatched in its energy management abilities, and the others have a broad range of abilities covering both defence and attack against warrior and spell caster enemies. Which other class can adapt so quickly than taking Empathy on when quests when facing predominantly warrior mobs, to backfire on the next when spell casters are a problem ?

Learning the skills is the key, learning what to use when is key. This can't be gained from a build read on a forum. If you have a particular type or style of character you want to play, then we can help, but telling you to play something just because it's easy to use in all situations is not only false economy, but's it's bypassing one of the most enjoyable features of the game.
