I looked with search but i didnt find anything on this particlular suggestion. Something that would be a nice addition to Guild wars would be a second skill bar. Something where you can set it up and switch between the two of them. I am sure we all said it before how we wish we could have more skills. Im talkng bout something where you can set for one build then set for a second build by just hittin a hot key or something. What do yall think?

I like the idea of saving builds, so switiching in towns would be quicker.

but I think more a build list would work over a second skill bar, so it changes skills, attributes and so on.

Both ideas have promise, but to add to this I would like a setup skill bar of 10 instead of the existing 8,as well as the ability to use 2 elites(1 from each profession) on 1 skill bar.How does a person have the knowledge of 2 professions, but only 1 elite skill to use from 1 profession only? I understand balance, but that seems more like the character is just not using both skill sets.A character with 2 professions should be able to at least use an elite from each profession.

No, that's terrible. You clearly do not understand balance or else you would never suggest such a thing. Right off the top of my head I'm seeing Aura of the Lich+Shield of Regen, and that's probably the least broken combination somebody could come up with.

I hope you don't mean changing skill bar in battle?

If you mean just change them in outpost and town, then you probably didn't use the search correctly

NO what i mean is while your in town you can set up 2 differant skill bars. While your out in the area you could hit a hot key and use a running build to get to where you wanna go, then switch using a hotkey to a fighting build, this is just a example of what im talking bout. I know there are some area where i find it rather slow getting through and would like to run but dont wanna sacrifice skills in oreder to bring sprint. I appreciate you going throught the trouble of getting those links but thats not what i was talking about. I m talking bout 2 differant skill bars interchangable in battle.

That's an even worse idea than the one about having two elites on the same bar -- it's effectively the same thing, only taken further, allowing people to have 16 skills available at all times. Your idea would destroy the game balance.

Yah personally 2 elites could be overpowered just go out with a elite in PvE and cap something as a offensive class and see how much it helps.

Uh, no stupid idea. There's a reason why you only have 8 skills at a time, and it's not cause Anet couldn't get more to work. If you don't understand why, you might be playing the wrong game.

Saving builds and switching in town is a good idea. Being able to switch outside of town is a bad idea and will never happen.

I see good in an extra skill bar, but mainly for the purpose of switching quickly from a running build (for example) to a fighting build, But i think you should have to be in town anyway, The game would be much easier if you switch while in battle, but i like the fact that it can be challenging.

That would really mess up the ballance in the game. A group of 8 would effectivly have 128 skill slots instead of 64, and even though you could only use one set of 8 at the time, you could alter the team build waaay to much on the fly for it to work balance-wise imo.

You can think as much as you want that having extra skill bars that you can switch on the fly is wonderful, but it would be completely against the design of the game and would ruin the balance that ArenaNet work so hard on. And if you can't understand that, you are playing the wrong game. Period.

Ok,Mr.Playing The Wrong Game, let's get some things straight. First off,how can a character be balanced if it leans to one profession over the other and call it a dual profession? It's obvious that it is purposefully inbalanced in order to underpower what could be an overpowering build.Secondly,if they are trying to give balance to combat situations, then why does that poor henchie,Orion, still throw firestorm? It doesn't work anymore. It should be changed, since every ele from Piken To Augury Rock has abandoned it as well. Also, the idea of 10 skill slots instead of 8 is off of the simple feeling that a character always seems to be missing something in the build. Switching on the fly is total inbalance to a degree, yet,it gives a versatility that we are not afforded at the moment. How many players have you been out with that have no res sig and no self healing because they are trying to be all damage and expect that 1 monk to heal everyone forever? This is my basis for 10 skill slots. The 2 elite idea is off of the fact of the dual profession premise. How does a character have 2 professions, yet can't use both sides effectively? I will answer that for you,Mr. Playing The Wrong Game. That is the case because of the insane notion of overpowering a build, and blah blah blah balance issues. It would still take more skill of the player than any skill bar enhancement to make a build unstoppable.Mesmers have blackout, afterall. That stops all buillds in their tracks.Maelstrom is a disrupters dream. These are just a couple of examples of how"balance" has been maintained.Almost every profession has a disruption move. Some are just better than others.2 Elite skills would be powerful, yes, but so was MS and Arcane Echo+Echo. Now,if a E/Mes was using his brain,he/she could use Gale,Arcane Echo+Echo+Aftershock.Would that be inbalance,or would that be manipulating an opportunity?Yet,if a monk used Peace and Harmony with Ether Renewal(Ele Elite),would that make him a battery? I understand your fears of inbalance, but the IWAY still run the tombs.Dead pets still litter its floors, and balance has not been talked about in that situation. Please, since that is the case, just disagree with it and don't start another balance/inbalance confrontation. You can't win with the way the world is made up.It's a similar setup as our real world. No balance here,no balance there.Except it and move on...

You have to remember any changes to skills effect pvp and pve.

There are always going to be better strategies and combinations. The reason we have the "elite" mechanism is so that you don't get broken skill interactions between two elites. Illusionary Weaponry + Hundred blades is one that comes to mind or Echo and Amity(lol).

I like the idea of quick swapping in towns or outposts though.

That would allow you to have 16 skills instead of 8, which would be very extremely overpowered. I like the idea of saving build templates for quick rebuilding though.

Pretty Stupid Idea.

For One, You couldn't change attribute points, so say an Ele had one Earth magic skillbar and one Water magic skillbar, one of them would be useless

and if you could have attribute point changes as well then you could effectively have a Ranger Trap team + Spiker team in one, which is horribly overpowered.

I've seen the idea that you could have pre set skillbars and change them in towns, for example you could quickly switch your build in towns, instead of remaking it everytime you want to change, but to have that option in an Arena?

No-no.

This isn't going to help the little guy much. As it is major teams are adding attributes once in match depending on opponents build.

Top builds are capable of doing two different things with 8 skills. Running and damage, healing and prot, heal and damage, interrupt and damage... pick your 8 skills correctly and you can do it all. This game is incredibly flexible within the given 8 skills (or 64). PvE is isn't especially difficult and PvP isn't doing relatively fine. If this game were completely broken, you may have a point but it isn't that broken... jump on observer mode for evidence.
