i have a 3.2 ghz p4 with HT, 2mb l2 cach 800 fsb.
128mb x300 ati vid card. (pci-e)
1gb ddr2 3200 400mhz ram.
and yet every few moments i get a stuck screen, like it's loading the information, only a split second but noticable, especially when moving the camera, it's like a still frame showing.
now with this type of computer i DOUBT that should be happening, i've tired replacing the vid card, restoring the pc to original settings, reformation, nothing fixes it.
i also have a strange line around characters when i highlight them, usually they are completely highlighted, however, now some of them only have streaks of line through their face and body, like outlines of the drawings.
i love the specs on the comp, if they would actually work.
someone help please?
why is my comp lagging!

I've never seen an X300, maybe Guild Wars hasn't either.
What I'm saying is, it might be a compatibility issue. Should check with Arenanet QA & Compatibility department if possible.

X300 is far from a good card I'd say thats the problem.
Emperor Mordred
it's not the graphics card, i have an 9800 pro 256mb and i get those interruptions too.
1 gig DDR, 3.2 intel
i hope they fix it, it doesn't seem like a hardware issue.

The X300 isn't a great card, but it should run the game fine. Have you updated the drivers on it?

I have
512 RAM
2.8 Intel Pentium 4
MSI 6600 GT - 128MB
When people stop they like teleport. It's really bothering me.
It doesn't matter what settings I set it to the teleporting remains.

teleporting people, and what i'm having are 2 different things, teleportation of chars means lag.. what i have is the complete laps of screen display. it just plain stops for a split second, like pausing a movie.... then resumes almost instantly. It's not very long, but very noticeable, especially in a few certain areas, to where it does basically play like a still frame movie (pictures) and i have to leave the town/map

Try lowering the video settings of your card to minimum and let me know how it runs. The video card isn't that great since its pretty well bottom barrel for PCIe selection.
I'm not sure but if any post found from here can help, great.

My system as if follows :
Athlon 2400XP+M @ 2.5Ghz
Abit NF7-S Rv 2
512MB PC 3200 Crucial
2x60GB Maxtor SATA RAID0
9700 Pro
I get no lag at all and no crashes, and my system isn't that great at all. It's getting close to rebuilding time.
I'm wondering if you guys have done a thorough check for spyware and virii?
Most of the "better" computers on here that complain of lag are going to have some sort of spyware/virus causing it. That, or a driver/imcompatibility issue as some of you stated before.

Card issue with a type of drawing done ingame, caused by driver conflict, I'm betting.
Update to most recent WHQL drivers (available at www.futuremark.com, they always know first what drivers have tested best) and not the ones found on the CD, and try it again. Run Driver Cleaner Pro beforehand to clean out any remains. Those cause all sorts of joyous problems.

i've tried 2 diff cards, the x300 and the x700 pro, the x700 pro actually did WORSE than the x300, it caused the game to run much slower, and took longer to load things, the x700 pro is gddr3 too...

the comp is brand new too, 1-2 weeks old, i run tests regularily, nothing like virus's or spyware
