Gamespy Interview
Red Sonya
That's going to be so great "competitive missions" instead of the easy to kill AI, people will have to get by other people to move on in the story or see other parts of the maps. YAY! This is the way it should have always been, exciting, scary, you're going to die type missions. When one could take henchies in every mission of the 1st edition to finish the game this will definitely add some spice to the PVE game, but, probably will tick a lot of people off who like to "RUN" the content. Now that would be awesome great if real live people could be in those zones stopping the runners and runees.
Heh, I may be in far left field, but, it's a good idea anyways even if it's not implemented.

This sounds like it'll be awesome. You can't actually take over places in WoW, if you get a ton of guys together and kill every single enemy guy in a contested zone, it stays contested. You can't capture any places for your team.
This however, you can. It sounds awesome. That new Guild Hall/town/castle looks ownage too.
Valerius
looks awesome... can't wait!
Charr Killer
That chinese place isn't a guild hall
It's the new continent: CANTHA

So there will be two new classes per release. So that means there could be dozens of classes =/

In the pic its The female ritualist on the left and the male assasin on the right . . U can tell by the blindfold.
That IS a guild hall . .Steps to lord high surrounding area near gate . . *nods* IT IS A HALL.
This game is gonna be GW:F > Earths Safety > GLobal Warming > Something . . . Starts with an L . Li- . .LIFE there.

It will cost as much as new games do. Since you can already pre-order this on amazon.com I suggest you look there for price.

this is an expansion however you package it.
same engine, characters, skills.
yes they added another chapter, 2 more characters to make 8, and skills for them and the originals. but I would still hope a lower pricetag for chp1 owners. guess we'll see. I will say this is they want $50 they better at least add 4 more character slots!! and yes I will shut-up about it - if they do it

Doesn't appear chapter 1 is required to play here, although that doesn't necessarily void the expansion relationship either IMO - it's more about what is delivered. This is a lot to be sure but if all these future chapter 'expansions' can stand alone and how much they deliver - that might become a bit of an issue.
I also didn't see GuildWars:Factions available on Amazon, for the record.

i seconds that motion --- 10 minute search..nothing....also just got off the phone to eb games.....no preorders yet...

IF in fact chapter 2 is a standalone, will buyers be able to access all lands in tyria that chapt 1 owners have......or only limited to the new lands?
I would have to say that making the chapters standalone would be a very bad mistake, it would make the story line Null & void & therefore confuse the hell out of most RPG gamers.
im not sure if im reading to much into what people are saying or not.....or even if what people are saying is factual, im just begining to have a few issues with the way this new expansion is shaping up.
just my opinion & yes im allowed to have one, please no flaming

I actually prefer that it is standalone. And if it's running on a different storyline, good! The first chapter can be fun, but let's face it, it has its issues. ANet has a chance to start fresh and make a much better game, this time around. I hope they do it...
BigTru
I hope this chapter will mention something about Olderan and the Greater Giants. I had VERY high hopes for Chapter 1's storyline from just reading the lore in the book... Then I played the game... =/
Rodrigo
It has been already stated that Chapters will be standalone. (This means Chapter 2 will not require chapter 1, and viceversa.).
So stop asking for the same info while you can search for it on this same board.

Dr Cerebro
Wow it looks totally awesome!!!
But I have a question.... Does anybody know if we'll be able to create additional characters? I don't want to delete the ones I have right now

Or how it will work if you already own chapter One?
Thanks in Advance.

O.O That dragon is hot! And a much better pic of the assassins armor.

I'm most interested in the world territory concept. I've always wanted that in a game. Tried and failed to impliment it into my own game, MA2 for the XBox had it, but it wasn't a successful game. Maybe finally it'll be "right" in GW.
I just hope the description fits the actual gameplay. Remember how GW was supposed to have "changing terrain and game dynamics that are determined by your party makeup and who has done what quest?" Right, having a quest places NPCs for that quest in a PUG's map. Whooptie-doo.

My own personal off the wall theory on how it will work is this.
Guild and Guild Alliances(GA) fight for control of a set number of resource points per city or area. The GA that wins the most resource points wins control of the city for their faction and also gets their flag over the city.
In short every city becomes it's own kinda HoH, where that factions population be it either Luxon or Kermit gain the benefits from others efforts.
That would seen to fit in with all the statements we've heard so far. If thats the way it will work then thats kinda cool. So long as there are no uber areas that can be camped or people excluded from.

From what i understand, there probably will be a 1v1 arenas, where you'll be able to combat another person or a "practice" NPC.

Assasins need a long black trench coat so they can look like teh Matrix.
