Point Blank vs Penetrating Attack

I have lvl 9 expertise and lvl 6 marksmanship so PB has +19 and PA has +9 (and 20% AP). At lower levels (in old ascalon) PB seems to do more damage, but which is better at higher level? Does the 20%AP help alot against higher lvl monsters?

Thanks.

Penetrating Attack. No question.

Penetrating Attack and Dual Shot (assuming you run a prep) are both better.

Actually when I run 12 Marks and 14 Expertise - Point Blank's attack does considerably more damage.

Still for staying away from the fight PA is better. If you are already going to be that close - Point Blank does indeed outdmg it at some attribute settings.

Range is the main thing IMO. You *should* do more damage if you have to get that much closer to the danger zone. A lot of enemies don't use their nastiest skills if you're at ~100ft away (ie. on the edge of agro bubble).

Main thing I like about PA is the simple fact that you can spam it a lot faster than most of the other attack shots... the recharge is only a small fraction of a second more than the time to fire with a lot of bows. In a string it's not a huge deal, but if your build only allows 1 direct attack skill then this comes in handy.
