Blacklisted Guild

We had 2 members in our HoH group, when sigil dropped everyone thought we should roll for it since it's such a rare item. One member of ********** got the drop. The 2 members went non-responsive for several minutes when we asked them about the roll. Then they claimed that the game-mechanics took care of the roll...that is all well and good for normal items, but every MMO has some sort of loot system, yet people roll for rare items as a custom. After we lost in the HoH , we asked them to do the right thing several times, but they totally deflected our probing w/ sarcasm. If you see the guild, *********, around, then know that they are not to be trusted and are generally cheats.

EDIT: the group members representing this (/sarcasm) "fine guild" were ********** and **********.

ok, first things first, my ingame name is Derfimus Prime, im the guild leader of RoS, (Rise of Syn) in GuildWars. we are a clan that has spawned into many games, all MMO's, we are a bit on the small side in numbers, but we are a close clan and hold close some basic rules of games, namely MMOs. our website is www.riseofsyn.net if you all feel like pointing and laughing.

ok, 2nd, the poster is a guildie whos been with us since we started in (sad enough) SWG. and the 4 of us that where playing tonight are really worked up about this seeing how we've been puting in alot of hrs to get our guild a sigel, (just like so many others have). we had no idea it would drop like loot, we where under the impression it would just go to the group leader, seeing how it always says either "guild name" won in the HoH" or "persons group won in the HoH."

we are not trying to start anything with this guild **********. we are mainly just stating that we let them in our group not knowing if we did so happen to win HoH, that the sigel, would drop like regular loot and that they we're not willing to roll for the item like so many things are done in other MMOs. rare loot gets /roll 'ed on when its a group effort with people you do not know. noone truely leaves such a thing up to how the game drops it. you leave it to further chance of the /roll.

we are just leting it be known that this guild wasnt willing to play fair when it wasnt SOULY their guild that won that item, we even had 4 members in that group from our guild, 2 other members in the group where from 2 different guilds and those 2 from their so-called guild, aka to them as, a chat for real life friends. (said so by their own text.)

we do not mean to come out as though we are slandering them or giving them a bad name, we are just leting it be known that our guild, and 2 others, got tottaly screwed here. we all worked hard to get to HoH and win that sigel, it took the whole team to do it and ALL but the 2 members of ********** agreed to /roll on the item. if we woulda known it was a loot drop we woulda stated before we started that we would /roll on the item, and even if it wasnt a loot drop and the group leader got the item, we still woulda /roll 'ed.

we are a honest clan, we have no reason to lie about anything, let alone something in a game, but everyone can understand how someone can get upset while playing a game when you've wasted hrs of your life in it.

so in final, we are just mearly trying to give everyone a heads up on this guild. we simply do not recomend grouping with **********. and we wanted to let their actions be known one way or another, we are sorry if this is all coming out wrong and that we've posted this in the wrong section or even wrong for posting this. but such an action by their part is some really messed up stuff and i just hope you can understand where we are coming from.

Things are auto-distributed because this isnt like other MMO's. You want to roll on things go play-SWG, WoW, EG, dark age whatever. Im glad I dont have to fight over whatever drops. Your arguement holds no water here since this game is trying to detract itself from other MMO's. It isnt the game's fault that you didnt know that it would be randomized. And trying to get someone to roll an item that was fairly distributed to them is pure bullshit and undermining. If the game fairly decided that I was to receive a piece of loot and you asked me to roll on it "because thats a gold item." Id tell you to jump off a cliff. That includes guild sigels. Blacklisting a guild because you'all are a bunch of cry babies is also pretty cheap. Apologize to this guild, tighten up, go back into the Hall of Heroes and try again.

Don't be a fool, the only honour system everyone abides to is definately Rock Paper Scissors. Other then that, automatic distrubition is something Anet has decided on.

But Rock Paper Scissors, how could ANYONE defy that?

Arguing for something that's already been assigned to them won't help you anywhere. It's best to apologize, take it like a man, and good luck next time.

Since this wasn't decided beforehand, you have no basis for your complaints.

It's terribly easy to "demand your chance". You've already taken part in a random roll! The game does that roll for each and every drop. You want a second chance?

Well actually I didn't played far enough in the tombs after release to know how it is implemented now.

Though in the BWs I was able to get the HoH with a team and from what I know the sigil were in a Chest!

It wasn't actually bound to someone after the chest got opened.
It was a free item anyone could get!
I don't know if this is still the case but if it does, then I would give it to the leader instead of using sarcasm against him.

My opinion though...

Why do you need to do "/roll"?
It's clear that this isn't ordinary MMO that need /roll to distribute things.
Guild Wars has automatically roll the items and reserve those items to him/her.
After being rolled automatically, you asked to do "/roll"? That's insane.
They decide to leave you alone and then you blacklisted them and also put a forum to blacklist them? You'd better appologize A S A P
If you want a /roll for the Sigil, you'd better make it clear when you make the party.

That's been taken care of. I'm not sure how much more clear I can be about this but this board was not established for your personal vendettas. We're not here so you can start a fight with each other or whine to everyone else about how this or that person did you wrong. In short, we're not going to help blacklist or harrass anyone. If you want to keep talking about sigil distribution in general terms, go right ahead. But leave names and specifics out of it. You want to drop your name and your guild, feel free, but you don't get to slander another party who might or might not be able to defend themselves by talking about them behind their back.

Hi all,

First let me say that I'm from Rose, the "fine guild" they stated above. But we don't take anything to heart because we know yesterday was just a misunderstanding. Since there are already many replies in this thread (thanks to you guys =) I believe that now everything is clear and they do understand about the drop looting system or the "assigned to" thing.

Now I'm not trying to rule over the rules or try to tell the admins what to do, but in my opinion they all deserve a second chance for a place in this Guild Wars community since they only fought for what they believed was true. Especially I feel bad for the innocent ones related to RoS to get the consequences too.

Anyhow, crimson yes it was a misunderstanding. I personally feel your guilds members coulda handled it a little more civiliy(This is prior tot his post) but to be honest i kinda understood where theyw ere coming from.

The thing most of the RoS guys are upset about is we had 8 people in group, 6 of them on ventrilo, the 2 rose members being the ONLY 2 not in vent. We had been pvping for awhile and hadnt won the HoH. Finally 2 of our monks bail and we pick up the 2 rose members as a space filler.

Anyhow what REALLY pushed this over the limit was when they told us that their guild had NO need for the sigil and were basically going to sell it.

Okay we might not be the best at pvp, but we hold our own. But we dont have a guild hall as of yet. When she basically said they had no use for it but she was keeping it that kinda upset alot of us(even the others on vent said we shoulda got the sigil since we kept everyone in line and were the ones running the group).

If your guildmates had said they actually needed it, we woulda still been upset, but not resorted to getting uppity on the forums. For that we apologize, but sometimes emotions get the better of all of us.

As for your guild members, we just simply wont invite them to our groups anymore and we will recommend to our brother/sister guilds to do that same. This isnt about the sigil, its mainly about the attitude they displayed when asked about it. Sucks to have to do that because they were decent players, but to be honest it is for the best since we obviously share different points of view. We normally wouldnt do this to a guild over 2 members but they said you were all RL friends and in my past experience most RL friends are alot alike.

As for banning us, lol go ahead. But banning a whole guild for a few people of that guild spoke out is retarded. A guys from a local college breaks into my house and steals something, does that mean everyone from the college isnt allowed at my house again?

There's your quote. In the same post you said YOU would never group with this guild again and you will be telling your brother and sister guilds to do the same BASED on the two members you grouped with. Because in YOUR opinion RL friends are all alike.

We do have ventrilo and teamspeak... we use it to chat all the time. You guys never asked about it, or even mentioned about it from the beginning until the end.

Second, so is sqarit's point true that it's the Roses who brought you guys to win HoH?


We didn't say that we have no need for the sigil, who doesn't want a guild hall? What we did say is that our guild right now is more like a chat room since not all of us are ready for GvG yet, so don't assume that we don't need the sigil. About selling it, again don't assume... even yet, we can do anything we want with it.


You opposed your own argument point? And you could've said the last paragraph in a lot nicer way.
