I havent been run yet but I may decide on it later on but I don't see how runners or people being run are hurting the game. And flaming people who justifiably think it's a hassle to do yet another quest just to get into town is pretty damn (insert your own insult here) |
Because running has become so rampant now, even new people to the game are running the content and not playing much of any part of the lower level game, they are making their way to TEMPLE OF AGES having not played hardly any of the content except the missions and the bonuses and enough to get them by so they can go directly to TEMPLE OF AGES into FOW/UW and they DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THEIR CLASS. These people are in groups I've seen them they are idiots, they don't know what skills to bring and they don't know much of anything about how to play their class at this point.
So, when you ask how it effects MY game, well there's your answer. And that's not the only real good reason for eliminating running. This wasn't advertised as GUILD TRACK RUN, it was advertised as GUILD WARS and the PVP portion of the game takes care of that TITLE rather well. In the PVE game it's not about GUILD WARS, the title doesn't even match the story if you paid any attention to the story, as far as that goes Guilds don't even fight each other in the PVE game so GUILD WARS has once again nothing to do with the story.
As far as henchies and the Grotta adventure and getting to Copperhammer Mines and the Citidel and Mineral Springs. I've done all this recently with henchies. I even did the TITAN quest with henchies. I don't understand why some people find it so hard to play through the content with henchies. If you can't do it; saying you suk, to me you suk, that's my opinion not a flame. Of course I can be more diplomatic and say well then you're not a very good player, yeah that sounds nicer I'm sure, but, the meaning is still the same.
Part of this is also what I'm talking about if you can't play and beat the game with henchies then as stated you aren't a very good player. You aren't the best, you don't use enough thought to be able to defeat these mursaat or dwarves or whatever is in your path. I don't have a problem with Alesia or the other players. Mainly because I played most of the game with them. I learned how they act, what to expect of them and use that knowledge to my advantage. I hit and pull mobs back to where we've already cleared or as far as they will pull to, then we take them out. I don't go charging in where they stand knowing full well orion or cynn is going to use an AOE spell and cause them to run. And yes the henchies have died and I have died, but, I learn from each death what not to do the next time. This is part of "playing the content" and not rushing or running through it. Even if you've played through the entire game with your first character, many still have no clue how to use the skills of the 2nd character unless it was the 2ndary of their first and then many still don't know their 2ndary skills well.
I am pretty sure running isn't going anywhere. I'm merely giving a suggestion how to curb it if ANET ever did decide to "change their minds" about running. And of course you all have given your opinions as to why you think running should stay. That's fine, that's what the forums are for. I will still stick by my rights and opinion it should be changed and in this manner because it makes it where the groups would be more organized and playing the content would teach them more a lot more than just running through it, no matter how many characters you have.
