so, I'm guessing that all current elite skills will be found on bosses throughout Cantha, since all the current classes will be available to players who only own Factions. Does anyone know if this has been addressed or answered anywhere? I've read the interviews and dont recall if this was mentioned anywhere.

ORRRR...........the *core professions* may have a *core* set of skills and if you want more you have to get chapter 1.

they wont simply make everything available in chapter 2 or where is any incentive to get chapter 1.

any of the new 25 skills available to the core professions will be obtainable in chapter 2 but that should be it.

From the way it sounds, as there's 75 skills per profession in chapter 1, they've probably identified a groups of "core" skills. These skills will be available for the 6 current classes for people who just purchased Chapter 2. Then add on top of that the new skills.

My guess is that the number of "core" skills per profession will be 50, making an equal 75 for each profession for each chapter.

I feel like 50 core skills for the original professions are too many. Based on my calculation, 25 core skills including 5 elites for each profession should be a good estimate. Thus, there are 50 skills (25 core plus 25 new skills) for each of the 6 professions for chapter 2 only players, and 75 skills for the two new professions, 50*6+75*2=450 total skills for chapter 2 only players, just about the same as chapter 1 player's total skills. For players with both chapters, the total skills would be about 750, 300 more than either chapter players. I feel this would be a good balance point for chapter 1 or chapter 2 players. But it's all up to Anet to decide how many and what core skills they thought would be propriate for future chapter players.

No reason to make this more difficult than it seems.

If you want chapter 1 skills you have to buy chapter 1. If you want chapter 2 skills you have to buy chapter 2.

What that means for you if you don't want chapter 2 skills or classes then don't get it. If you start on chapter 2 you will be able to create the 6 core classes and use the 2 new ones but only the skills in that chapter.
