Just started playing GW, liked it and now i have questions :P

1. I customize a weapon, salvage it, can i trade what i salvaged?
2. A weapon has 2 mods on it, i salvage it, do i get the two mods+the basic weapon product (i.e. wood)
3. A weapon requires 10 marksmanship, i can wear it and i only have 7, why?
4. When selling stuff, should i only try to sell max/near max mods and weapons?

Thank you!

1. Yes, it's tradable.

2. No, you'll only ever get one item - either one of the mods or materials.

3. If you don't meet the requirement, you can still use it, just its damage drops to that of a starter bow.

4. Because few people buy nonmax weapons, so it's not worth the hassle.

2 - just remember that to get a mod you need to use the expert salvage kits.

4 - kind of depends on how much time you like to spend hanging out in town chats.
you can sell lesser stuff, but only for a few hundred, and you'll probably have to peddle it around a bunch of districts.
maybe best is to keep some of the better stuff in storage and keep an eye open for people looking to buy while you're in town.
also, try to get some feel for what sells.
the lower districts will generally have more traffic than the upper districts.

ps

check out the ventari sell subforum and the auction site here.

1. I customize a weapon, salvage it, can i trade what i salvaged?

Yes, since its crafting material or the mod thats in the weapon.

2. A weapon has 2 mods on it, i salvage it, do i get the two mods+the basic weapon product (i.e. wood)

No, you only get one of the mods or sometimes you just get crafting material.

3. A weapon requires 10 marksmanship, i can wear it and i only have 7, why?

Thats the way it works, its not like other games were they wont let you hold the weapon if you do not meet its requirments.
The way its works is that if you have less points than the weapon needs then you wont do the max damage that it does.
On the other hand if the req is 9 and you have 12 then you will do more damage.

4. When selling stuff, should i only try to sell max/near max mods and weapons?

Yes, there is no point in trying to sell enchant 17% or even 18%.
Please tend to buy perfect or one point below perfect.

are you sure about that?
because that's not the way I heard it.

I sold enchant +14% for 1500, and that was a lot of money for me at the time.

it's not always about the 100k deals -- it depends on where you are in the game.

and they can usually give you a good guess.
or, scroll through the auction inventory (ones that are almost done) and see what people bid on similar things.

I'm a complete amateur, so don't trust my word on it, but my wild guess on the aegis would be maybe 1 or 2k if you're lucky and you spam it to w/mo's in chat --- the hp when cursed is a crappy mod.
and the staff......maybe couple k, as well?
about all it's got going for it is the near perfect fort mod.

the market for this stuff is FAR from perfectly efficient, and a lot of it just depends on your salesmanship, persistence, and being at the right place at the right time.
