Gates of Kryta - Bonus Quest?

Can anyne help me figure out how to find the bonus quest in the Gates of Kryta Mission? I tried to talk to the boy but he always says "he doen't talk to strangers" then I though it had something to do with the pig "oink" you pick up at the beginning, but I could not find anyone to give it to. I am at a loss here for the Bonus Quest! Am I doing something wrong? or something in the wrong order?

If I remember correctly, all I did was get Oink and bring it to the boy, and he will thank you. Oink the pig was in a place way before the kid; Oink has better AI than henchies hehe.

Take the pig to the gate with you, and then listen to the boy talking about his lost pig, then take the pig to the boy...

Once you deliver Oink to the boy turn left and talk to his father. He will tell you that there is a wrecked Orr ship in a cove off to the southwest. Exit the town heading towards the beach with the Mergoyles and Lighting Drakes. Off to your left, where the towns archer guards are posted is a path that will lead you down to water level. Follow it for some distance, carefully fighting the Drakes you encounter until you reach the wrecked ship. There at the ship you will find a chest, inside is the object you are searching for. To avoid *spoilage I'll just tell you that you have to return the object to the kid's dad and then you will have completed the bonus. Cheers and good luck. Valarian.

We tried this last night but for some reason it did not work. Now maybe just waiting for the boy to talk about his missing pig is the cue we need. Also does it have to be the toon that actually clicked on the pig first,to talk to the boy first? Or does it have to be the mission leader? all of us? or just some of us? Because we absolutely tried everything and nothing seemed to work. But again we did not wait for the boy to talk about the missing pig. So once again, thanks to your help, we will try! And if this doesnt work "Oink' I'm having pork chops for dinner tonight!!!

Once you talk to the kid, he thanks you and then you talk to his father and he says that if you find anything in the shipwreck you should bring it to him. At no point does a "Bonus" mission added bullet pop up. You just wait until the old man mentions the wreck, takes a bit, then you go off and find it and bring back what you find to him. That is the bonus. Once you do that you will get the reward and you are free to continue on with the main mission. Valarian.

I have gotten a Bonus Mission Added message on the screen everytime I've done it. All I did, (with henchmen), was clear the area on the way to the village, (to avoid unnecessary pig-deaths), went back and got Oink, and walked him over to the boy. I never spoke to the boy or the historian, just doing that ^ I got the Bonus Mission Added message, and then proceeded to fetch the Tome as normal.

I've done this mission bonus before on another character. It worked fine.

I tried today, and the boy will not talk to me. I've waited for him to talk about his missing pig, also waited until he finished talking to his father. Neither attempts worked. I'm guessing it's bugged atm? I don't know, but it won't give me the bonus.
