Guild Wars & Guild Wars: Factions

With the announcement of GW: Factions drawing closer, and the release of new information about the game, one question rings through my mind. Since Factions will be a stand alone expansion, and thus will have its own world, I'm wondering if our characters made for Factions will be able to travel to the original GW places.

They've stated that different items and skills will be available to people who own both the original GW and the new Factions, so this implys that our characters from the original will be able to travel to the new locations. But they've said nothing about the new characters traveling to the old places.

If anyone has any information on this question I'd like to know. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide

Yes. it has been mentioned that if you own both chapter 1 and 2, there will be a point in which the chracters will go back and forth between the continents.
