We need a manual call "How to use the search button" (no joke)

I like using the search button however I'm having trouble using the dang thing right so that a mod doesn't have to point me in the right direction and tell me "THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN BEATEN TO DEATH". So it would be nice to have a manual to tell us how to use it right after all it might save you time.

Some off the top of my head:
1. Use unique words. The search engine doesn't care if you type in "How to use search", just that you typed in "search". "How to use" are too common of words.
2. Use slightly different terms. "farm area" and "farm location" give many of the same results, but each has a few results that the other doesn't.
3. Search in specific forum(s). If you're looking for where to find Crystalline Swords, you don't want to search all forums as you'll get threads in the Sell forums. Instead, for Crystallines you should specify the Q&A and Tyrian Explorer's League forums.
4. If you're looking for a specific thread, try to remember when it was created and search in that time frame.
5. The forum search engine apparently isn't very advanced; it won't understand quotation marks or any other search engine functions.
6. You can try searching just in titles only, but be aware that many forum users suck at naming their titles properly.
7. If it's PvE and it's not a change made in the most recent update, most likely someone's already made a thread about it. Most of the time old PvE threads are still valid, too.

Very true. This screwed over my first 5 or so searches I ever made before I realized titles here = crap.
Also, try to think of words that would commonly be used in your topic but may not actually BE your topic. Like if you want farming builds for griffins for example, try adding Augury to your search.

Don't forget the wildcard, possibly the most useful resource in searching.
Searching under*ld will get you all the following results: underworld, underld, underorld, etc... that can account for many user misspellings.
Also, searching a three letter word with a wildcard on any end yanks it up to 4 letters, thus bypassing the "word is too small" situation.

Here's an idea.
Increase the amount of forums. Sure, there is Ventari's Sell, but maybe there could be a forum just for axes, or just for caster items, or services (sort of like the active auction.) Also, you could make a forum for farming builds only.

Well let us not forget the search button is not the only way to check for an old topic, normaly I do search button first, if that does not come up with results I check the first 10-20 pages of the most likely board the topic could be found in, if I still come up with nothing I go ahead and make the topic... but then again I rarely make topics, I just like reading old posts.
The only other advice I can give is for the suggestion board... if it sounds like an idea that is sitting right infront of you but anet has not put it in yet then it has already been posted... a few times. Some examples are new character ideas, ideas for more character space, and let us not forget about emotes.
