It depends whether you plan to sell them, and whether you want to take a rick and ID them.

They might ID into a perfect mod sword which will make you hundreds of platinum.

They will more likely ID into worthless pieces of metal.

So, do you feel lucky? Do you want to take the risk yourself, or sell it like it is and risk losing a perfect weapon?

Here's my opinion. I'd take the chance because even if you sold 10 unid weps you'd still get more for 1 identified one if it's perfect. Also remember that it takes a while to sell unid weps.

Well, Ideally this 'req7' sword you have is a Fellblade, Long Sword etc and not a Falchion or Butterfly Sword. Next is the inherent damage modifier. You preferably want 15%^50, or one of the 15% always mods. Next are the two salvagable mods on the sword, the Hilt and the Pommel. You should hope that your Long Sword ID's into a Sundering Long Sword of Fortitude, with preferably 10% Sundering Hilt and a +30hp Pommel.

But like most people who play the lottery, you will probably get a '12% While in Stance' or '16% Vs. Hexed' inherent, an 'Ebon' hilt (Earth damage), and a Pommel of Pruning (+18% damage Vs. Plants).

Best of luck

Always ID:
Blue/Purple/Gold Salvage Items
Blue/Purple/Gold 2 Handed Weapons

Salvage Items will unlock a rune and you can then expert salvage them to get the rune. 2 Handed Weapons will unlock weapon mods and you will occaisonally get great weapons or great mods by IDing them. If the weapon sucks, but the mod is good, then you can expert salvage them to get the mod.

In my opinion you should always ID gold weapons with req lower than 10 even if they stats suck their selling price is better than an UD weapon and much people don't want to buy weapon AND take the risk of the ID so better sell purple weapons UD at ascalon there are some newbies who don't know how the trades works[always in my opinion] and even better go and farm at griffons you have good rate to hit a gold item with +fortitude

If you get gold unid drops you should test them if lower that req 10 if higher just id it.

With every other weapon white, blue, purple you can sell the weapon to the merchant for a higher price of u id then sell rather than just selling it without iding ( which costs 4 gold). Well that's what i remember but i haven't played guild wars in a while.
