what items do i salvage? Do i just salvage the items where it says salvage items? some people say i should also salvage weapons. But say the weapon is worth 200 in store. If i salvage it, i get something like 10 pieces of wood, but theyre worth much less than 200.

to salvage a mod from a weapon, use an expert salvage kit. when an item says "salvage item" it just means that its the only use it has. i never pick up those, unless there colored which means they have runes in them. but if you do decide to alvage them, you will get cloth or iron or some other crafting materiel. When a item says "highly salvageable" it means you will get extra of the same normal salvage materiel"
like a staff will get you 5 planks, a highly salvageable one might get you 40 planks

It depends.. if there is a 4-24 damage axe with a good mod on it (such at +28 health or higher) then try to salvage it out and sell it for more. If it is just a plain weapon, sell it to merchant.

i salvo everything except items that give bones or shells..if an item has a value of 70gp or more i'll sell it to the merchant..and when it comes to armor with runes, i.d. it 1st, that value might be more than the rune trader would give you for the salvaged rune...

Not 100% true. Take for example a centaur hide. If you salvage this you get a "tanned hide square", but if you use an expert salvage kit, there is a chance you could get a "fur square". The same is true for weapons, swords for example can be slavaged into iron, but can occasionally yeild steel.

This doesn't happen every time, but does happen, and as far as i'm aware you have to use an expert salvage kit.

"Highhly salvageable" are rumoured to have a higher chance of yeilding rare materials.

This is the list i use to see what things will salvage into

Hope it helps.

Take the price of the salvage kit divided by the ammount of uses it has. Subtract that number from the value of the items you recieve...from material trader or human trade...and compare that with the value of the pre salvaged item...from merchant or human trade.

Simple cases

Don't salvage early game...before desert.

Salvage Wood/Iron/Leather Hides

Don't salvage blue or purple runes in most cases(check againts rune trader to be sure)

Always compare upgrade value to overall item value before deciding what to do with golds.
