nVidia G Force FX Series

Every couple hours my video starts to go hay-wire and funky. Then my game freezes. My diagnostic says nothing is wrong and Direct Draw and Direct3D work fine. Is it time for an upgrade or does Guild Wars engine just not like the FX series?

Care to elaborate? You can also check to see if the card has wiggled loose, and if there is a secondary power connecter (on many newer cards) make sure it is seated all the way.

I am using a NVidia GeForce FX video card and am having trouble seeing some terrain features.
There is a known issue with NVidia GeForce FX video cards (GPUs) and driver version 61.77 when the user has changed "Image Settings" to "High performance". Some of the problems include missing terrain. The solution is to change your video settings to "High quality". To do this, follow these instructions: On Windows XP:
Open Display Properties control panel
Click Settings tab
Click Advanced button
Click GeForce "Version" tab
Select Performance and Quality Settings in left window
In the Global Driver Settings window select Image Settings
Move the slider to the right to "High quality"
The video cards/GPUs that are affected by this problem are:
GeForce FX 5200
GeForce FX 5200 Ultra

I use the GeForce FX 5200 128meg PCI version of the video card with the original software and have not suffered from the problems you have listed. Note I said the original software. I did have the problem went I tried updating to the newer builds so if you have done that you will probly need to convert back to the software disc that came with the card and that will probly solve your problem.
