What would be so hard to just add one PVP slot to every account. This would be a given slot that is for PVP only. Cant erase it, cant make it a PVE, its just a PVP slot so you can play PVE and PVP and everyone will be happy.

Makes since to me,but that's more space on their servers that gets taken up,so see their side as well.

Because people should be able to choose for themselves what they want to do with their slots?

Someone who was only interested in PvE would be down a slot, and someone who was only interested in PvP would be down to one slot... Personally I have a PvE monk, 2 PvP monks, and my fourth slot is whatever other PvP character I might be using at that time.

What about like a ghost character slot for PvP? Like you create a PvP character, when you do a template is created that logs the character you just made's build and equiped items/runes/armor, when you log off the character is deleted.

When you log back on, you can simply acess the template, choose your looks and name, accept and then boot back into the game?

This might save space on their servers, and, of course, you don't need exp on your PvP character so no need to keep a record of it. (This might also quill whines for a 5th PvE slot..)

Seems like a game suggestion to me.

But I've they are gonna have another slot, why not make it available for pve too?

Because it seems to me, that there are ALOT of people who use all 4 slots for PVE characters. Although we use those PVE characters for PVP.

They give you 8 characters, and only 4 slots for a reason. To make you have to buy another copy of the game. Period. Its a no brainer. They had me at "no monthly fee". Nowhere on the box does it say " May need to purchase multiple copies of this game in order to play it."

If they wanted me to buy another copy of this game, they should have linked the accounts so that my fame earned on one account, reflected on the other.
This way i dont end up with a rank 7 on one acount, and a rank 2 on the other that cant even get into a good group.

Also, i notice a ton of PVP players complaining that they would like to see some type of save char for PVP so they dont have to spend hundreds of hours re-rolling characters.

Can't anet just charge for additional slots? i got 3 accounts now and its a pain in the arse having characters spread about and having fame spread out, id be willing to pay another £10-20 for a couple more slots, what difference does it make to anet, seperate accounts take up more server room, which is paid for in the cost of the purchase.

4 slots limit is because they want people to buy another account. It has nothing to do with consuming servers or something. I understand the limit because this game has no monthly fees. They have to get money somehow and game itself is cheap anyway. How many online games without monthly fee cost about 27 euros at least for EU countries (play.com)? Maybe all can't have access to play.com with that price tag but I bet that at least in America they are about as cheap if you look at right places. Don't know about Asian but there games are more like a job and/or drug so higher price wouldn't be a problem.

Okay it's understandable that they want people to buy another key. But why not let them merge accounts? I'd be quite happy to purchase another copy of Ch1 for a merge, then shove Ch2 on top of that account.

Gaile has already mentioned they will not merge accounts...2 complicated...

and of course they want u 2 buy another account, its their revenue...

But seriously, 3 PVE and 1 PVP, just save that extra slot

Of course multiple PVE characters shouldn't b much of a problem nymore with an update coming out every 6 months...gonna b hard to get EVERYTHING b4 we start the next chapter

I think the ideal amount of char slots is 1 per primary, and one for a pvp-only.

I'd like to be able to play the game with one of every char tyvm. My only way of doing that currently is to DELETE a char, or buy another copy of the game. Oh, but if I buy another copy, I can't easily transfer items, and I'd have to unlock everything again (Or delete a char on my first account, but thats what we're trying to avoid, right?) Then, when C2 comes out, I'd have to buy two copies of it.

So no, buying another copy is not a good option.

From a PvP pov, in C1, 4 char slots was fine. In C2, from that same pov, 5 will be fine.

The problem is, We don't all play PvP. Sure, all you need is 3 char slots to cover every class for the purpose of unlocks via quests. The PvE-heavy people, many of them like playing differnt chars. I'd like to see someone try and argue that a W/Mo plays exactly like a Mo/W. That would be nonsense. From a PvE pov, the ideal number of slots is at least one per primary. With the exelent ability to change secondarys, only one of each primary is really needed for a PvE player.

Since the PvE player would like more slots than the average PvP player, it is logical to side with the PvE player.

What if there were a dedicated PvP only slot? I think this would bother many PvE players, unless they already had as many slots as they wanted.

So, imho, the minimmum number of slots equals the number of primarys, while the ideal number if slots is the number of primarys plus one. Wether or not that one extra slot is a PvP-only slot makes little difference to me. After all, I could always use it as a mule if I want.

Edit:Oh, one other point:
Seperatly (Since they can be kept seperate)
C1=4 slots
C2=4+ slots
Soooo... logicaly...
C1+C2=8+ slots. At least.
Anything less will make me a very sad panda...

Because no account merge means everyone with two accounts has to buy two copies of Chapter 2...

1. Use proper english.

2. So they can program a well balanced game introducing a number of equations to create 3D graphics as well as collision detection and complex combat mechanics, but they find merging two keys to make 8 slots on an account too complex? Get real.

Sad to say but I think:
