I would like to see the following feature added to the game. I recently used the support option on the main site (rather quick response too!) and they mentioned that I should post here.
I asked if there was a way to easily add someone to your team other than having to type in their name and click the plus sign (or hit enter). The response was a "nope".
So, if you can click on someone's name in the chat, and be able to whisper to them without typing in their name, then it shouldn't be that hard to pop that name into the text entry box for adding someone to the team, right?
Or better yet, a right click context menu on the name in the chat window to have a "Invite to team" option as well as maybe "Ignore", things like that.
Cheers,
Kuzo

Great idea. I've been hoping for something like this. Also knowing What sort of character they are without having to ask them woudl be a nicety, but not as important.

Just make them the selected player when you click on there name in chat, just like you would click on them on party or in "the world".
Sometimes it's hard to find the person saying in chat "looking for group" in the world to invite him to your party, so you have to type his name manualy. Not totaly wrong, but could be easier still. ^^
Same goes for trading too, you chat with someone for a trade, then you have to find him to trade ...

The easiest way to add someone to your party without knowing where they are in town is quite simple. Click their name in the chat log to bring it into your whisper channel and then select the entire name with your cursor and ctrl-c to copy the name, and finally select your add to the party field and ctrl-v to paste the name of the party member you want to add. So:
1) Find person's name and click on it.
2) Highlight their name in the whisper field.
3) Copy it (ctrl-c)
4) Select the add to party menu
5) Paste it (ctrl-v)
It seems like a lot of steps and a bigger hassle than it should be, but eventually you will be able to get it down to a matter of one or a few seconds.

In WoW you can shift click on the name of a person and it tells you their class and level. I think this would be a great addition to GW.
I also think the guild roster should show you level and class, I have no idea why it shouldn't.

Yes, the interface in WoW is much better, escpecially with the whole user customization thing.
